I agree, Alec can have a career in sales. With a talk like that, you can sell sand in the Sahara. In the meantime, I'm sold on the green giant. Please state your price, Alec ;)

Using it half bent over will catch up to you someday M8, I've been working as a pipewelder and pipefitter since 1983, I've learned the hard way that if you can get your work up so your standing straight your back will thank you every morning when you roll out. When I was your age I'd foolishly toss argon bottles on my shoulder because I was impatient also lengths of pipe etc, I've had both knees and hip replaced but the back isn't so easy, I build up the bases of all my tools, pipe lathe, threaders, chain vises, you name it, if I can, I will. Great videos, young man

He could produce his own show for Discovery orso but they would want him in a strangle hold contract. So then they might want to consider power raising the amount they are used to paying for a top-show. And even then... I don't think it would be the same, nor feel the same.

the ferrington 200's hammer squeezes more because it is directly copying the motion of the piston, which is attached to the fly wheel. the piston essentially moves in waves, rounding off for a second at the top and bottom. the other hammer has a binary push up, push down, so it travels at a relatively constant speed, and returns as soon as the down stroke has finished. basically, it doesn't round of at the end of each stroke.

"The green machine" one of those "don't make em like they used to" kind of machines. I restored a 1957 delta drill press and its the best drill press I've ever used, something to be said for vintage machinery. 👍🏻⚔🔨

Your GREEN GIANT makes me turn green with envy... Here in Spain the market for used forging machines is almost non existent (the very rare pieces in the market are either scrap material or expensive as new ones). So I made my Ambrosio with an air compressor and a small pneumatic cilinder. I can hit harder with a sledge hammer, but he has a little more stamina... ;)

I'm with you on this one Torbjorn not sure your right about the valves Alec. Also you said it uses suction to lift the ram????? Not sure your right there ether. That is a lot of suction to lift such a heavy thing. If you have some information on the hammer so i could see how it works that would be super cool man.

I believe it hits harder because it uses a vacuum to pull the ram back up and it would require the piston the travel so far before creating enough vacuum to pull the ram based on how you described the operation.
