Pilgrim Song - Salt Lake Vocal Artists

Музыка

The Salt Lake Vocal Artists perform "Pilgrim Song" arr. by Ryan Murphy live in concert on March 24, 2012 in the Waterford School Concert Hall, under the direction of Dr. Brady Allred.
Piano: Laurel Enke
Pilgrim Song - American Folk Hymn arr. by
Ryan Murphy
My brethren, I have found a land that doth
abound with fruit as sweet as honey; The more
I eat I find the more I am inclined to shout and
sing Hosanna!
Chorus: My soul doth long to go where I may
fully know the glory of my Savior.
Mid' sweetness and the strife, I'll live a joyful
life. I'm going to sing forever!
Perhaps you think me wild or simple as a child; I am a child
of glory. I am born from above, my soul is filled
with love; I love to tell the story. [Chorus]
My soul now sits and sings and practices its
wings, and contemplates the hour. When the
messenger shall say, "Come, quit this house of
clay and with bright angels tower". [Chorus]

What happened to the lyrics "I'm going to live forever" as opposed to "I'm going to sing forever"?

yeah, not sure why the lyrics always get changed. You can't sing if you are dead 8D

I'm going to SING Forever??? Way to neuter the message of the song there.

Sing forever and Live forever are the exact same message. I don't think that anyone wouldn't understand the implied meaning. In fact, since it is a song as opposed to a poem I like the use of "sing" better.

@michaelvalentine339 1 second ago I love this song but I do not like all the word changes. The text of the song was written by Ryan Murphy the way it was for a reason. The pronunciation of the word Savior was absolutely dreadful. You know better Brady Allred with all your training. Please stop decomposing these pieces and ruining the textual connotation of the piece.
