Pilates for runners - Runners knee

TODAY’S SESSION:
This 11min sequence is designed to help reduce the pain and frustration of the dreaded Runners knee and help restore strength, range and function.
Runners Knee is one of the most prevalent injuries in the world of distance running and can cause pain, compromised mechanics, put a road block into your training program & holt progress towards your running goals.
BUT! If we get onto rehab quickly, we can mitigate the effects of runners knee and restore function. In this super quick rehab program we aim strengthen the quads, hamstrings, calves and glutes and restore muscle imbalances in the pelvis to help correct mechanics, reduce pain and restore function.
I recommend you do this routine 3-4x week and make sure to see your Physio to give your extra personalised rehab tips.

    This is a tough one and I have to watch carefully to make sure I’ve got my knees and feet in the right place! But my tight knee always feels better after this

    2.5 weeks ago I had the worst runners knee - my fiancé would literally have to give me piggy-back rides to get down flights of stairs because the pain of bending my knee was so excruciating! I came across this video while trying to find some low impact strengthening workouts for my glutes/quads (because I already knew that this was the reason I ended up with runners knee), and I vowed to do this workout at least 5x a week. now, 2.5 weeks later, I can run, jump, and walk down the stairs, pain-free! thank you SO MUCH for uploading this video. I would not have been able to make such a fast and "easy" recovery without you!
