Well only back to base in 2 but in 3 you can go anywhere but unfortunately they removed sleeping in 3

I like how if you speedrun the submerged castle it’s just a normal cave that you only use blues for

This is the first 100% run I've seen and every section is just so damn clean

The dedication to sit here and learn everything and to actually do it. This is a huge game and to see it done so quick is impressive to say the least

Gosh, back when he was LP’ing this game Chuggaaconroy said the Wii version of Pikmin 2 was never released in North America. A year later, I find the game at a Walmart- in Kamloops, BC, Canada. Yeah, it took way longer than it should have for the NTSC version of the game to come out!

I like how when the small spiders see pikmin holding treasure, they just pick it up with the pikmin still on it like "this is mine now."

That was some sick multi-tasking during the Titan Dweevil fight. Only in speedrunning.

I was wondering how a Pikmin 2 speedrun would work with how random it could be, so I watched the entire thing. I now realize how bad I am at the game, killing everything before getting the treasures. I'm still not sure how you didn't lose more pikmin from the enemies though. I love how you just ran around on a massacre of the wildlife when waiting for the Doomsday Apparatus to get back to the ship.

Gatling Groinks and Spotty Bulbears are so annoying. The fact that, if you don’t take them to the ship before their health recovers they can resurrect is scary!

In most cases if you take it slow and clear a path for them then spam to death with purples it's possible to get them down without losses, but certainly some of the most dangerous enemies, I'd say bulbears are scarier...

One of the most annoying things in this game is how treasures pause your gameplay to a halt for like 5 seconds every time

Day 1 extinction is not viable and Blues are basically not available. Early Blues needs more complicated methods on Wii.

@@AlexRodriguez-oo9yu Same, when I started playing pikmin 2 I quit without collecting a single treasure from the submerged castle because of how affraid I was of the waterwraith, years later I replayed pikmin 2 and beat the cave with 5 or 7 pikmin I believe lol, was surprised about the amount of fear that guy caused me as a kid, hilarious

It is due to the cutscene skips. I went on to the next level at the same moment when treasure cutscene plays.

I love chilling with Pikmin speedruns in the background! :) From looking at it, that cutscene skip doesn't seem like it really skips anything... It's glitchy, but the cutscene seems to take the same amount of time. Does it save much, or is it more of a "swag" strat?

I've only ever seen it possible when pushing a captain into the spray, so how I just wanted to know how you were doing it like that? Again, awesome video from what I've already watched :))

Crossing spray drop while whistling is another way for double-spray exploit, since they can't get it until whistling ends.

If Hocotate Freight is in debt wouldn’t the Pokos in Olimar’s Secret Safe from the original Pikmin help with that?

It wouldn't have made a difference in the slightest. A years salary wouldn't make a dent because they were in over 100 years worth of salary in debt. So the answer is, yeah, but you're better off saving it up secretly

because when you do early extinction it bypasses the part where you have to get louie, which takes forever, at the smaller cost of having to collect more pikmin in several days at the beginning

Having had to replay that part 3 times on a casual playthrough due to memory card issues, I can vouch that Day 1 is a really long day.

Yes, I have to deal with that kind of RNG in the entire run. However, that is one of the most interesting things for both player and viewer, since there are not exactly same strat.

I don't like how he Is capable of attacking meele with Purple AND White pikmin 😭

It's called Day 1 Extinction. You can throw a pikmin behind you in that corner and it ends up out of bounds. You can then lead it off the OoB ledges and kill it, and the game advances to day 2. This lets you sequence break the early game tutorials and saves over a minute in total (you have to go collect courage reactor + have the day end from an above ground treasure later). It is only doable this way on the GC version.

Did you almost have a heart attack at 2:49:13? That purple looked like it was toast

First treasure collected in Valley of Repose forces to end the day. Courage Reactor is usually the one but due to Day 1 Extinction, Utter Scrap is the first treasure to end the day in this case.
