A few days ago I just blocked about 20 social media sites from my child’s phone. It’s crazy how many sites are geared towards children.

My gosh!! I didnt have a clue there is so many social site!! All of MY children are grown, but their children are so active on their phones. I pray for all our children to be safe and their parents are monitoring all their online activity​@marriejames01

Agree, kids these days are using social media younger and younger, it’s destroying their childhood. Parents need to monitor everything their kids do, what they’re watching, etc. All they need is a phone to make calls, one without Internet access.

Something not right at home. Something jus not right at home!

My granddaughter snuck out while we were all sleeping to hang with a neighborhood kid. We installed an alarm now so she cannot leave without waking everyone. It seems to be the 11 and 12 year old girls lately that want to get around everyone's tight leash on them. It is frightening and my heart goes out to this family! If you don't have this issue then do not judge those who do. All children make mistakes but today it can lead to dangerous outcomes.

@@sheila7221 Yes I am a parent. Most children do not sneak out in the middle of the night, so it is possible. I am an educator in elementary school and can tell you from personal observation that the way to keep your daughters safe is for them to have a strong relationship with their fathers - that way they don't go looking for positive male companionship. I feel bad for this family and am praying for the child's safe return.

Unless you know this family and their story personally, I would refrain from putting this case in such a broad box. A predator specializes in "separating" their target from their loved ones regardless of the bond shared.

Like I said before it's going to continue if these young girls keep on thinking like mature. They leave the house in the middle of the night like an adult is going to their jobs. Kids need to start watching news so they could be aware of the danger in the streets.

This just happened to a 12-year-old girl, Jocelyn Nungaray and she sneaked out of her home in the middle of the night. Poor girl was found dead under a bridge in Houston. Texas authorities said Jocelyn Nungaray ran into two men, who were out drinking, at a nearby 7/11 gas station when they asked her for directions. Nungaray was then lured to a bridge by the men and killed. I hope this girl is found alive. Parents please keep cell phones and computers out of your children's room. While parents are sleeping, your child can be on the phone on social media. Parents keep your children out of social media! Be aware of who they are talking to.

I have parental blocks on my 13 yr old phone. I take her phone every night at 9 since school is out and 7 when school is in. I keep her busy with productive things to do everyday. Just staying in the know, I’m real nosey. You’re a child you have no secrets. We talk and I ask plenty of questions. We living in crazy times. I pray for Alana’s safe return home!!

The sad thing is they may have thought she was mature enough. And the question is how old is old enough, ya know? I've seen this happen to 15 and 17 year olds. It's as if our children are never safe. It's sad. My oldest is 2. She has a learning tablet with no access to the internet, and oh how I wish I could keep her away from it until she's 21. 🤦🏾‍♀️

A little girl in a different state just did the same thing. Sneaked out of her home and met up with 2 foreign guys who ended up leaving her half clothed and dead in the water. She was not of color. I don't think these sick perverts care, they just take advantage of children who have access to the internet. Whatever happened to Hop-scotch, monopoly, and all the other games kids used to play? This is so very sad. Prayers for Alona to be safely returned home, and for strength and peace for family and loved ones. IMHO if schools are going to be indoctrinating our children it should be with safety lessons.

As a parent of a mother of a daughter I did everything possible I took her phone from her I have broke her phone change her number no matter what I did she still had access to a phone her friends used to give her phones I didn't know about until I caught her with a phone three different times can't blame the parents or the mother sometimes every situation is different you got some mothers out here do everything they can for their daughters or there children my daughter is an adult now I was just like this Mom the Pikesville mother I had to file my daughter missing she was on the news I had to talk to detectives and police I did everything I could to protect my child my daughter kids today in this world we'll do whatever they want to do and how they feel it don't matter how they upset their parents my daughter did come back home the police brought her back home thank God she was safe she did not have a care in the world how upset that she made me and the rest of the family I'm sharing this story I wasn't at Mom's Shoes several years ago my daughter is a grown woman now with her own daughter I hope my daughter will learn to look out for social media ask her daughter gets older she has more acknowledged by her being older now with social media social media is the worst in this generation

Please go back to giving children phones that can call or text. They don’t need anything else until they’re older. We survived with these types of devices and didn’t need mini computers with 24/7 internet access.

This was in Baltimore, MD - we usually don't get mentioned on major news. It has been on our local Fox 45 news however. And so very sad. Some people are just sick, he probably told her he was 20 catfishing her and really he's 30/40/50. These men are just sick and will use, abuse and then dispose of her somewhere 😩 There's also the traffickers and she is exactly what they're looking for and they're very dangerous, once they actually sneak off they're made to feel comfortable until they're beaten and put to work and told they can't leave and basically held captive until nighttime 😩
