As a father i understand his explanation about wanting to know if your son can handle themselves. Most fathers and sons will never be as close as them.

Absolutely brilliant interview. I love Barry's character, he's more of a representative of what it means to be British than the job that the Royals have been doing 😂. Genuinely great interview. However, please, please, please focus on the audio of the podcast. It's hard to hear or enjoy at times due to the reverb in the room on this one. I say this with love because I would have really, really enjoyed this with a more premium sound and it's kind of taken away what could have been a perfect interview

Complete gold, from start to finish, not a dull moment. And actually, for all the laughter and banter, there was alot of healthy and empowering exchanges. So much better than the standard Jerry Springer shows on the Palestinian conflict or some identity politics yawn fests. I had taken Piers off my priority channels to watch. Too much toxic trash. But this interview has reignited my interest. Brilliant. Fun. Many lessons. And I feel great having watched. Yes, Piers, you are out of the "wanker" section. (to get that joke you had to have watched the whole interview!)

@@queensberryrulez5306 MMA has nothing to do with boxing. Certainly not amateur boxing. Lads go to an amateur club and train hard. Diet. Run for miles on days they aren't in the gym. They don't take steroids, get big in a year and pull each other about. Also boxing sparring is pretty full on and you soon end up only training the lads who wan to fight at an amateur clubs. Martial arts will sell you a suit. Take your money and teach you for years. Even if you don't have any bottle These are 2 different things/places and the sports and have nothing in common. Why try to combine MMA with boxing. Other than to steal it's fans. With mma and since Jon Jones. You don't know if you'll get a punch in the face or a finger in the eye. Also MMA has very little resemblance to a real fight. Which is fine if it's a sport. The fact they sell it as a real fight. When previous rules and even BKFC will show how different things can be during another setting. Also why would anyone. Other than if lazy. Learn MMA. As Ryan Garcia lost more per pound on the scales than bonus paid out at UFC 300. Their largest event.

Camaraderie is all fake as soon as money gets involved. It goes out of the window. Even when they don't land the eye poke. The sheer threat of it. While pretending to hand fight. Changes the whole game. And as I say. The rules often decide who wins in MMA. Boxing is a proper, established sport. Where people get fair pay.

I agreed on most points but would actually disagree with ‘losers’ not getting paid. It probably depends on the sport, but if you look at tennis for example, all the money shouldn’t just go towards the final two. If you’re not a top 20 or top 50 tennis player, players have to work their socks off to even qualify for the first round of the bigger, better payed tournaments. Standard is so high that while these guys are at the top of their game, they stand very little chance of progressing further than 1st or 2nd round. And they cover flights, accommodation etc themselves. So getting paid progressively more from the very 1st round is the right approach.

Well said. And also , alot of kids to wealthy parents either blow it or just maintain it and do nothing. Eddie's pushed it much further. I think if you're not the envious type, you can respect that. After all isn't it all of our dreams to give our kids the best we can? I'm Jamaican living in England and Piers annoys me, he makes me laugh, he gets me upset, he has me talking to my TV screen BUT I realise that I love him and and I think he is lovely person. I was highly impressed when he had the guests on debating whether that Jesus wasn't a vegetarian topic came up. Piers I am happy you are Christian and that tells me you have morals.
