Piers only interrupts like he does because more often than not he has multiple guests on with completely opposing views or a guest who needs to be strongly challenged in their views. This was not that sort of interview

the fact so many people liked the original comment here kinda represents how many people massively lack social awareness and empathy. '"jumping on something and running with it" when the interviewee clearly isn't comfortable very well might get you an 'exclusive' and something 'juicy' that people can talk about, but it completely eradicates your reputation and respect as an interviewer/journalist and ultimately a person. admittedly piers lost respect about 100x over lmao, so none of this is surprising being a great interviewer is about having social awareness and creating a genuine conversation with someone where they almost treat you like confiding in a best friend. making someone uncomfortable isn't great interviewing unless they're someone who's done terrible things that you want to address; dana isn't that person

Sorry for your losses Dana, no matter how it was with your upbringing they are the ones who gave us life. I lost my brother and mom at 15 and 16 then my dad at 22 and it was a very stressful feeling of not having parents anymore and by no means was it a silver spoon upbringing yet it's all we have, then my sister passed as well. Stay strong and keep your head up and march forward, it's a journey for all of us and love is key. True friends are so important and impowering. I've been lucky enough to have a Best friend for 62 years and that's Gold. Take care of yourself Dana. 👍

This is without doubt one of the best interviews out there. Two people speaking pure sense, especially around the softness of many in the USA/Western world. Well done Piers.

I have to say that Piers has done a phenomenal job conducting this interview. He's been meticulously picking the right moment to jump with a brilliant note or a question. I, personally, believe that there couldn't have been any better interview conducted anywhere with Dana like the one Piers pulled off! well done Piers, and thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Piers has had all sorts of interactions with all types of individuals and been called many things in interviews. However never have I bursted out in laughter at Dana's face and reaction to a few of his questions in such stoic fashion "You Sound Like My Wife!" THIS INTERVIEW WAS GREAT STUFF!
