Hmmm.... NO. I watch his interviews cuz they r entertaining. Yes, he has some high-profile cool guests on the show... but does he REALLY listen to them?! I haven't gotten that impression! His attitude completely changes when he has high-profile smart guests on, such as Neil DeGrasseTyson or Bill Maher, compared to when the guest is not well known (in which case, he goes to his usual - albeit fun to watch - fighting mode!) I wonder, if the guest was not Tyson, would Morgan have given him the chance to explain why/how men&women can compete "together" before calling the whole idea preposterous!!!

My sons 38 and 42 are not political at all. They get fed up with the babble from both sides. They believe people should shut up and do something productive. Not stopping traffic with protest or ruining art. In fact not protesting but doing things. One spent years going downtown in a major city serving soup to the homeless and getting to know them, even in sub zero weather. He is now running 3 companies he has started up. The other is very successful in his own field and reaches out to people in need. So my advice to all, shut up and do something.

    Жыл бұрын

@@slabbyfatback2272 Scary times? You need a history lesson. Modern humans have roamed this planet for some 200,000 years and recorded history began around 5,000 years ago. The 20th century saw two world wars and the second killed 3% of the human population. By the mid-20th century, America descended into chaos and massive riots during the fight for civil rights and equality. Slavery was widespread just a century earlier and millions were killed under European colonialism. African cultures and tribes were obliterated from existence and they’ve never recovered. Estimates from British rule in India place the death toll at over 100 million. Go back further, we have the genocide of Native Americans, the decimation of South American tribes from disease and forced conversion to Christianity. Genghis Kahn slaughtered 20 million people in the 13th century for nothing more than expanding his rule and conquest. The Catholic Church initiated the inquisitions and religious fanaticism gripped Europe and brutally killed millions of innocents. The Crusades were just as barbaric and bloody. Further back to Ancient Rome, I’ll mention Nero, who’d have tar poured on Christians to light them ablaze merely to provide illumination for his parties. Emperor Tiberius would sexually abuse young children and then throw them off the cliffs of his palace when he grew bored of them. But 2023 is sooooooo bad and out of control, right? Yah, no. What is happening today that is remotely this bad? Nothing even compares to the horrors of our collective history. Would you prefer to live when black people had to drink from separate fountains and were lynched? How about puritan New England when innocent women were hanged for witchcraft? Are you Catholic? You’d better hope so if you lived during the reign of Mary I of England. She burned thousands of Protestants at the stake and there’s endless other examples proving that the world hasn’t gone mad, it’s always been mad. Any historian will tell you that the 21st century is likely the most peaceful, politically stable and productive period in recorded history. Warfare has declined, human rights and democracy are more widespread than ever, violent crime has decreased from record levels in the 90’s, and every legitimate metric clearly shows that the world is improving. I suggest picking up a history book because the past was not better for anyone and it was no less crazy than the world today. Mankind has always been rife with problems and it will always be that way. What we’re dealing with today is relatively benign compared to the serious existential threats we’ve faced in the past. You really need to put things into perspective and stop buying into the apocalyptic fear mongering pushed by the media. We haven’t survived for 200,000 years only to be undone by wokeness and cancel culture.

I just don’t understand the title and the click-baity thumbnail. Why is it “versus”? I thought the interview was really pleasant, amicable, informative and Bill spoke his mind plainly as he always does. KZread team, you don’t need click-bait when it comes to Bill Maher. Especially not when he’s talking to Piers.

Bill's wrong about this: it's not the teenagers. I think the ones under 18 have seen enough of this to grow up understanding and laughing at its stupidity. That's my experience anyway.
