From what I understand, the Dutch woman who translated the book from English into Dutch is an experienced, professional translator. I believe what she is saying to be true. Side note: is the manuscript she translated into Dutch able to be displayed so we can see what she was given to translate?

Oprah’s failure to fact check that interview was appalling. Horrific damage was done to race relations based on statements by a confirmed liar. The Archbishop had to make a statement saying it wasn’t true that he married them in secret the day before the public ceremony. 16 other fact-checkable untruths have been tabulated. Later followed by a claim that they personally buried the remains of their miscarried fetus in their backyard (illegal to do). I get so angry about this miscarriage of truth because racism matters! That means no crying wolf for personal gain or vengeance.

I am white. My husband's canadian but his parents are from India and he's quite dark. We have 3 sons and we wondered during each pregnancy if the babies would be darker like dad or lighter like mom (they are all 3 my little copies 😅🤣 both physical aspect and personality! I guess I have stronger genes! Though they all absolutely love cars/mechanic, like dad). No problem whatsoever. It is pretty normal to wonder. In fact, I bet they also wondered if the baby was gonna be red haired. If such conversations existed... they were probably just innocent wondering about how a baby who's still in his mom's belly will look like.

Asking how the child would look is a common question in any family

I never met her or talked to Meghan. I did not even know who she was until so much hubbub was happening and even that, I caught that maybe a bit more than 1 year ago. I never heard of Suits, either and I watch a lot of TV. THAT this is the case, she must have been quite to herself and quiet, not very ostentatious at all. Also, that she was so upset by the gutter press tells me that she obviously wasn’t used to that kind of thing at all. Harry, on the other hand, grew up with that crap. And then there is this: Why is it overlooked that it was HARRY that told the baby skin color story to Meghan? She did not hear that herself. Harry can do whatever he wants. “You know Meghan, they don’t REALLY like you….” “they don’t really like people like you….” that is what it is saying, and for a garbage reason “your race.” HARRY DID THIS. Perhaps Harry RESENTED that they liked Meghan. Remember, as a GINGER he knows that gingers are not well liked in England. And SURELY Harry knows exactly what Charles felt when he was born: DISAPPOINTED. Diana told the story. Fact is, the racial issue was NEVER an issue with Meghan until HARRY came into her life. Yet SHE gets blamed. HARRY started it up, making it a HUGE issue. All her life Meghan never did anything like that, yet people knew her mother. It turns out that on Suits Meghan's character was portrayed as biracial! So people knew this and it was never a problem. She openly said that often she was not white enough for white parts and not black enough for black parts. She also tried to draw her own "square" to check off if they asked for race. It was never a f'ing problem here in the US. HARRY comes into her life and all of a sudden it’s a HUGE issue. “Out of Compton”, “gangland royalty” Sheesh. She didn’t do this. HE DID. People need to STOP BLAMING HER. HE is the one with all these pre-teen childhood traumas that he never got over. HARRY. NOT Meghan. HE was the one falling out of bars drunk. HE was a mess. Meghan was never like that even as a TEEN in California, which is rare. Harry is the one obsessed with Diana and never got over it. So now Scobie pulls this shit. Meghan doesn't want a damned thing to do with ANY of it anymore, as she said about some other non issue "a 2 yr old letter about an issue 4 yrs old". She is DONE. Harry IS the problem. Face it. I have to point out one more important thing: even as a TEENAGER in freaking CALIFORNIA she never got into trouble or misbehaved. She didn't play hooky from school, nothing. Harry was a disaster his whole life but it is HE that can present a "nice guy" thing.

Including the Princess of Wales was a massive mistake. Charles is not racist but he may have spoken about the subject, Katherine, no chances. I manipulating this revelation H&M have continued to damage their image. Irreparably.

I think naming them both was a massive mistake. I've seen racism in action. Very few racists I know would be willing to walk their mixed race soon to be daughter in law down the aisle for the world to see. Why can't people see what liars those 3 are? So if she is Scobie's source, it's hearsay. Harry did not mention the conversations in the book. During Oprah interview he said there was a conversation about how the child might look . I do not remember him mentioning skin colour.

Very true. I am a grandmother to a bi- racial child. My daughter is mixed Hispanic and Native American with very light skin. My granddaughters father is black with very dark skin. We all had a conversation about what we thought would be the baby's skin tone, either light or dark. It was never meant as racist or demeaning, just a conversation. We all agreed that no matter the child's race or skin color, we would love her no matter what. And to this day, she is my princess, my world, and my heart aches for her when she's not around me.

I think what Harry told her that they were wondering if they would have gingers and had nothing to do with the color of skin. She’s not that dark, more on the white side (so much so, she had to tell producers she was part black). She twisted his family teasing him having a ginger baby to the color of the skin. And he said once it was brought up BEFORE they even were married. So BEFORE they knew she was part black.

When I was pregnant, my mother in law (loved her to death) wondered what color of skin our baby would be. I was so stunned that I couldn't even comment on this remark. I was a little hurt and thought it was a silly thing to say. But I didn't label it as racism. And to me the same applies in this incident: it was an insensitive and and downright dumb comment, but not made out of ill will.

Mentioning the names was the right thing to do. The racist cap doesn't fit the head of either King Charles or Catherine, so it doesn't damage them. Their record of service to everyone (regardless of colour) informs who they are. AND mentioning the names takes this 'wild card' away from H & M - they can no longer play the whole "oh, we don't want to say, it would be damaging to them". H & M have never taken the higher ground and at least now they can't continue to pretend to in this matter.

What I want to know is when is the UK parliament going to step up and remove the titles of the Sussex for the good of their country. I really sympathize with KClll but his fatherly love can still be with PH when his farce of a marriage comes apart but up until then the King needs to do what’s best for the Monarchy and Remove the titles and get an order of sorts to muzzle MM and Harry for the rest of their lives

I had two children, a boy, and a girl …. I am Italian with dark hair and brown eyes. My husband is a blonde with green eyes. Everybody in the family wanted to know what the kids were gonna look like has nothing to do with race…. I now have a biracial granddaughter pretty as can be…. We were together with her African-American side. We were all laughing and talking and wondering what the baby was gonna look like….. My family are black but my baby brother only date white girls. His white girlfriend got pregnant and none of us would dare wonder about the color of the baby skin. Let the parents be concerned about that; if we are not racist, then we should not be even thinking about the baby skin but a safe birth and a healthy baby. Since the Royal never quite accepted Meghan fully, then no need to speak about the baby skin color. I never wondered about my brother baby skin color

Why is no one referencing the fact that during his book tour interview with Stephen Colbert harry stated that he had wondered how his ginger genes would stand up against his wife's genes; a clear indication that he had concerns regarding the impact markle's 25% black genes would have on any offsprings. It's also a shame that so many choose to overlook harry's inappropriate comments and the fact he was forced to publicly apologise for his racist slurs and the bullying of his army colleagues - but I guess at some point harry will get away with also attributing that to the media.

So are we to believe that the alleged conversation was so egregious and offensive yet harry a white man still chose to sit on a global stage with another white man in front of millions of people to discuss and share his concerns about skin colour. If he and his fake wife had been so offended by a supposed single conversation why was harry so eager to openly share his own concerns or 'unconscious bias' with the world. By the way in the real world my black family and families of all races often take great joy and pleasure in speculating on the colour, features and possible personality of a new born.
