PICNIC IN A TUSCAN OLIVE GROVE & TACKLING THE UGLY!

Vegetable Quiche:
Oven on at 200c
1 ready made round puff pastry
6/7 eggs
1 large zucchini thinly sliced or grated
half an onion chopped
half a red pepper chopped finely
half a Feta cheese cubed
half a cup of milk (cow, oat, rice, soya)
salt and pepper to taste
Lay the puff pastry in your quiche dish, in the paper it comes in. Put some oven paper over the pastry and pour in some baking beans, rice or lentils to weigh it down and bake it for 10 minutes at 200C
Break the eggs into a large bowl and mix them together. Tip in all of the other ingredients together, mix it all up and pour on to the pre-baked pastry (obviously removing the rice/lentils first). Bake for around 40 minutes.
Dorset Apple Cake
225g self raising flour
1tsp baking powder
200g castor sugar
2 eggs
150g melted butter
250g diced apples
25g flaked almond (not obligatory)
preheat oven to 160°c
grease 1 round cake tin
Mix everything together except the apples.
Spread half onto cake tin. Heap the sliced apples in the centre and spread the rest of the cake mix over it, trying to completely cover it.
Sprinkle flaked almonds over the top.
Bake for 1 1/4 hours 160°c

Let's be honest, would you really be bothered coming back for a table umbrella? That said they left their tortoises to be looked after by you and took all the light fittings... I think I'd put the umbrella in storage with the rest of their stuff and if they've not come to collect it all within a time frame, I'd get rid.

I know four of the reasons why Carlo loves Nicki, 1) She relishes completed projects. She will dig in and get dirty, but 2) after all she is girly and loves looking pretty, 3) she is beautiful inside and out, and 4) she loves Carlo dearly.

I think you need to leave the previous owners umbrella outside your gate and make sure it is locked so that they do not just come in and take more of your things. I am loving the outside colour you chose for the walls and I am sure that once the chairs have been upholstered, the patio furniture will look lovely. Thank you for taking us along on your idyllic days in the sun in Tuscany. I eagerly wait the notification that tells me you have posted. Indi looks like she is having so much fun runniing in those fiels, and I find the finding of those sea shells rather intriguing, imagine how old they could be. till next Sunday!!!

😅Wow, the previous owners are very nervy. They should have taken all their belongings at the closing. Poor Carlo had to clean up all the mess out of your house and store their belongings and they took their time coming to collect it. Make sure they know to come at a predetermined time and not to enter the house if your not there. I'd change all the locks before a time is arranged and make it clear they need to take all while your both there , even if they don't want some of it they have to take it ,you should not have to have whatever they might not to take with them removed at cost to you. They have a lot of nerve, they made you wait over-and-over again before you could move in.

I love the colour you've painted the house, it looks amazing. I'm only half way through the video but just wanted to say "enough" with the previous owners. If they come and take that parasol I'll chase them away myself :) I would be tempted to get a pair of beautiful wooden security gates and take great pleasure in telling them to "bog off" if they attempt any further extractions. For me, that would ruin the whole vibe of a new house - not feeling it's completely mine because previous owners keep gaining access. It did actually happen to me with a house in the English countryside and I only lasted three years there because I never really settled. I eventually padlocked the gates to stop the previous owner visiting and taking things from the garden! Most people will probably cope with that better than me but you are beyond entitled at this stage to put a boundary down and some gates up!

My friends born and raised in Rome bought a house in Baltimore, USA. When they sold it, they did not move out immediately after they had turned the keys over to the new owner and were shocked when the police came by the next day and kicked them out. And at a time when I was looking for a furnished place to rent that was over stuffed with things, I declined to rent that property because I knew the Italian owner would never remove all of the extras. I also want to mention, of course just my opinion, but I have always known and felt that while the Region of Tuscany always gets a big buildup, in actuality the region of Campagna is more beautiful than Tuscany and for that matter, Abruzzo is too.

How about a nice little hot house next to the house for growing things? I'm sure Carlo can build it and you can design it!! My Italian Grandfather always had one. Simply wonder smells in there from all the herbs.

I hope the deadbeat previous owners watch your videos and read the comments. At this point in time, coming back to collect anything is trespassing. They're lucky you guys have been so patient for so many months. Especially after all the items they took after closing. All their stuff should go in the rubbish.

I love the color you painted the couch and chairs and the fabric you chose and looking forward to seeing them all done. You did a great job painting the house it looks wonderful! I grew up in a very big Italian family and we always had picnics . My most favorite thing to do is have a picnic and that picnic looked amazing! Such a beautiful place for a picnic and the delicious foods and warm Smiling faces have me thinking it’s time to get the family together for our picnic. I’ve been amazed at how fast you’ve made Tuscany your home . You’ve had friends and family around you and seeing you both out and about the area getting to know people and being part of the area is heart warming. Iam so happy for you. I think you really made a good decision buying a house there. Have a very beautiful blessed day🙏🕊💕🌹🌼🌷🌻🌺🌸

When you finally got the keys for your new house in Tuscany, it was shocking to see how much the previous owners stripped and took off the property. Surely they could leave a sun umbrella.😡 I love Annie Sloane chalk paint and your outdoor set is going to look fabulous. I also love your choice of fabric.💚

I also thought that the geometric brickwork on the wall (on your roof) was a unique architural feature & aesthetically pleasing. It would make an ideal backdrop for a fashion shoot. A fun episode idea would be for you & Marie to each find a dress, accessories, shoes at the vintage market and for Carlo (with his cinematography skills) to take photos of you both posing on the roof. You won't even need a wind machine up there! 👱🏻‍♀️♥️

With the milk paint and the new fabric, this outdoor sofa set will look a million!!! I would have thought that not sautéing the veggies before mixing with eggs would have made the quiche a bit watery, But it does not seem to be the case! So next time I bake a quiche, I won't bother with sautéing the zucchini and peppers first. Brava!

Nicky, That outside sofa could be improved if you used a jigsaw to take the curvy bits off and make them straight and replace the struts on the side with straight bits. It would look a bit modern and be much nicer.

Is it normal in Italy for the previous owners of a home, you just bought , to leave their belongings and just come back over and over again to retrieve things that they’ve left behind , that’s the oddest thing.
