Wow! Gorgeous bike! Seems like more and more riders are actually switching back to steel. For heavier rides the added weight (although some steel frames are quite light) really doesn't mean anything. I'm 90 kilos so 1 kilo extra will never mean getting dropped from a group ride and it's not like I'm about to ride the tour!

Beautiful build, and Francis I think the word you were looking for was ‘fare’ as the tyres fare into the rims to smooth the passage of the air. I do wonder if Pickle had considered Titanium for the build rather than stainless steel-it’s the way I would have gone-but then I love Ti and have a gravel and mountain bike made from it.

I was thinking "dream" build recently - that isn't far off it. 👌 I'd have campag record instead of Force, and (controversially) rim brakes with super-light wheels - purely because light weight accentuates the feeling from stainless steel bikes and (for me at least) I'd want it to feel as nimble as possible, even if it's not necessarily as fast as modern setups.

Yay, me too. Out riding with a fella the other day - the amount of times he turned around to check things out and then got balked was amazing, and very dangerous. I still over-shoulder as vehicles can join from the left (in Europe) and not quite get picked up - usually motorbikes, i don't always hear them in towns, and on my wahoo I get a split second of icon. Can't ride without a bike, helmet, varia, mirror. Some dickhead politician here said that people should turn off their car lights more "to save energy". Dark car, no lights, on a dark background - invisible. Dark car 150 miles away with lights on....well, light travels pretty fast for a reason - my safety :-)

Stainless is a bit heavier, has less strength, is more complicated to weld, I wouldn't go for f.ex. stainless steel gravel frame. It's easier to maintain steel frame, every 5 years strip parts and do some anti-rust treatment inside frame. I have steel gravel bike and if I ever need a bike rust resistant, I''ll go with Ti frame. Their value loss is slower with time, compared to steel, carbon or alu frames.

Fast delivery: It arrived 5 weeks earlier than expected.4. Easy assemblyJust a few cons but nothing major:1. Cheap tin tubes and had flat on first day... but not a big deal. I replaced the tubes.2. Seat is a bit uncomfortable but that's pretty much the same situation with most bikes.3. Seat post is a bit long/high for a smaller size 48 bike - had to saw 2 inch off to fit properly. The lowest setting is too high. The post locking system does not seem to hold well (perhaps because I saw 2 inch off).4. wheels are not tubeless compatible (from what I can tell)
