Omg 😮 so sorry boo I’m just now seeing this🤦🏾‍♀️. So far the process has been pretty smooth. Slow but smooth. I ordered a book took ASVAB and scored 76. The Air Force was the only branch that didn’t require giving up custody of kids which made it my only option. I had to get waived for having dependents, and two other things 🙄. As Mr. Isiah said in this video the ASVAB score is even more important for someone who needs multiple waivers. I still qualify for a decent amount of Job’s. I feel like they really want me to be a mechanic though lol. I have MEPs this week which will probably give me a shorter list of jobs that I qualify for. Soooo if you want to do it start studying now. Select a date that you plan to be ready to go take the pretest. By the time I finally leave for basic it’ll probably be a whole year from the date I started the process🤨

Hum 🤔 I’m sorry to hear that. Retraining... seems like that wouldn’t be the only way to come in. Did they give you the option of coming in fresh? maybe try another recruiter. Those waivers can be a lot of work for them. My understanding is that it’s much easier for them to grab people straight out of high school with less/no baggage. I did show up with all my paperwork in hand as well. Birth certificates, doc records, driving records, transcripts, etc. (ready)🤓lol.

It depends on your recruiter, some recruiters are cool and will allow you to stay in dep to wait for an opening in the job you want and some recruiters just want to fill numbers and tell you have to take what you get or get a dep discharge. A recruiter cannot force you into any job, if someone is dead set on one job ask your recruiter first and see if they would allow you to stay in dep for a few months to get the job you want. If the recruiter is an ass about it, find a new recruiter. They are usually always looking for security forces jobs though so it shouldn’t be that hard to get a recruiter to agree to allowing him to wait a few months if needed

My situation was/is alot similar to this girls. Multiple recruiters tried to tell me that " the air force only have high demands for security forces at the moment" and that if im not listin sf on my list then not to bother joinin at all. I got pretty upset over that statement not gonna lie lol well what im tryin to get at is ive had my eyes set on something medical and the recruiters straight up told me that they're not lookin for anythin medical rn is that also a lot of shit or is it really not needed atm? Sorry for the long comment lol subscribed btw great content. Aim high!

I've made several videos on this. Keep in mind that u have to go thru a recruiter to join so playing dumb sometimes is necessary lol they cant make u list anything. U will most likely make your list of jobs at meps after u swear in and your recruiter wont even be there. List the jobs u qualify for and u would like to have. Remember u aren't guaranteed any job but u can cross train letter that's why u should do a 4 year contract so u can cross train earlier

Hello Raymond, Great content man. Thank you. I took the APT test as I want to join the Army Reserve, and now my recruiter does not want to show me which jobs I could potentially qualify for. He says that since my percentile was 75, I would most likely qualify for most jobs. He wants me to take the ASVAB, but since I don't know which jobs are available in my area, how can I know what score to shoot for? I feel like he doesn't want me to see what jobs I can really get so that I can choose from a list that he wants me to choose. Any advice?

My only concern moving forward is the possibility of being put into an open aptitude. I'm going reserves/guard for schooling purposes but the problem is they are apparently full for that job at the base nearest to me and the next one it 3 hrs away. The army would be closer but I don't know if I want that. Or he said I can wait a year for it to come available. What do you think?? Thank you.

Whatever other 9 jobs I put in cuz I have to but I’m only interested in the security forces. Can wait for SF out of other 9jobs that are listed, even if other 9 jobs and one of them is open I don’t want it I only security forces. Can I wait that’s what I’m asking.

Aye man your videos are really helpful. If I were to join I’d be going in on a grade 2 waiver due to a criminal charge. My recruiter is telling me that since I’m coming in on a waiver I can’t do anything that requires a security clearance and that they would put me in a job where they “need” me, which seems to be mechanical. But I know I don’t want to do anything that’s mechanical bc I hear it’s basically a shitty job. I would much rather do something inside behind a desk. I know my situation is a unique one, but I’m really trying to better my life w the airforce. Do I really not have an option of jobs due to coming in on a waiver? Any kind of feedback would be great man I appreciate it.

I would recommend u do that. Pick an open category that has the least desired jobs contained in it. Get your foot in the door and make quality decisions while you're in.

I was told that 99% of recruiters will discharge you from DEP if you don’t take any of the jobs they offer you. Is this true? If I go open admin, wouldn’t I get an admin job anyway? Mane that's exactly the life most individuals live lol I work 730 to 430 m-f with an hour lunch. Very normal schedule. I workout on my own and gave plenty of time to myself. Some career fields work less hours. Your ambitions are easily attainable. Watch my day in the life vlog

During the job listing process, will they tell you which jobs qualify you for a signing bonus and how much those signing bonuses are?

Probably not. Bonuses are usually tied with jobs noone wants or jobs that alot of people fail put of in tech school. Linguist is definitely a job that has one.

It's not a bad job if you want to work Law Enforcement in the future. If you don't see law enforcement in your future then i would try to get into something else that you are more interested in.
