I have an early bird ticket and will be wearing a bright yellow t shirt. I am tall and have dark hair. I may just wear a name tag! If you see me, give me a holler! :)

Hi George! I really enjoyed this video. It's really interesting to see you decide what to bring, and the longer length was really a treat. My husband and I will try to go to the Portland show this Saturday, so we'll say hi, and maybe we'll see some of these items. I love the Czech brooch and lucite elephant I got from you in Spokane.

Hi George, in reference to the cricket boxes, I thought I’d explain why the ancient Chinese kept crickets. Not only for their happy chirping, but for fighting. Yes, they had cricket fights. The elite would gamble on the cricket matches. If you read traditional Chinese stories or watch films that take place in historic times, you’ll often hear about some nobleman’s champion cricket! 🦗 And just as an aside, crickets will eat anything, from bread to other crickets! 😅. Edit: could the little glass vase be from Anton Studios? They make similar looking vases of different colors. 🤔

Hi there! Thank you for the explanation, I had heard about the crickets coming home in cages but I didn’t know they were for gambling and sport. Also thank you for the vase I.d., I’ll check it out

George, great stuff for Portland! I haven't watched the vintage vlogs for quite awhile since I retired from re-selling. After 40 years on the side! So nice to see you going strong and still excited about your craft. When I was in HS in the 70s we called cricket boxes stash boxes for the obvious reason. No need to stash any more in most places haha. Good luck to you at the show! One of these days I'll have to go. I enjoyed this preview of your always cool inventory.❤🙏

Hi there! I hadn’t heard any of us were allowed to retire ha ha but congratulations. It is still fun for me doing this KZread stuff is actually in invigorated me again. I imagine lots of boxes were called stash boxes in the 70s nowadays everything’s cartridges or gummies so I guess they don’t need them anymore.

@@TheAntiqueNomadLive I should have put the word retired in quotation marks lol. I retired from my career then two years later from reselling, meaning I decided to pack it in! I never was a toker, smoker, nor mid night joker but hung with the best of them back then. It is interesting where that stuff was stashed. You seem to still be enjoying yourself and that's epic because so many learn a lot from you. You and Xeno stay safe out there and happy picking!

Wow! You have a lot of things to pack, and they are a fantastic variety! I really liked the parquetry box. The Roseville _Wisteria_ vase is my vibe, too. The Native American stone piece is actually something I'd like to have. With what you have to sell, you will do great at the show!

I'm glad you caught on to what I'm trying to do here! The show focus is so vintage that I think it's necessary to expand the horizons of the attendees, everything you like is up that alley.

@@TheAntiqueNomadLive Yes, if people expand their horizons a bit, and mix antiques with vintage, it gives a space a "lived-in" look, with much more interest. It gives a look that things have been acquired over time and generations. It can also be amasing at how true antiques can mix with vintage in really relative ways. Among the mid-century fish/fishing-related planters I have, I also have two Dugan _Fisherman's_ mugs, in amethyst Carnival Glass. It just works. Those plastic flowers you have, for example - put them in a tall Czech Spatter Ware vase. The colours in a Czech Spatter Ware vase, combined with the colours of the flowers, would compliment each other quite well, and it would bring two different time periods together in a really cohesive way. Some people that collect things like the flowers might not even know things like the Czech Spatter Ware even exists, unless they see them together. Even then, they might be quite surprised to learn a Czech Spatter Ware vase is a much older piece than the flowers. Learning that would definitely expand their horizons.

Hey George! I didn't see a notice...I'm kinda on rest today, my right knee is all swollen. More than Normal. I think I must have twisted it when I fell out of bed this past weekend. 🙄 3x in 6 months. I think I had a Politically inspired nightmare. My Moms BF had the fire king coffee cups in all 3 colors. And the owl vomit pieces were the least disagreeable. Myself it's the Science Experiments in wax covered jars t hat are horrendous. You know, veggies in oil. This video was really fun I wish I had caught it. I will confess to speeding it up since I was on rewatch and I t was 2 hours, but it was interesting. Those flowers are 2 die for I wouldn't take less than $10 each. Do the flowers glow in the dark? Not blue light? I'm going down the hole trying to figure them out. Are they on one stem as a bunch or all singles. Cuz I'd sell them as singles at 10 or 15 each you might make your booth 😆 ❤❤❤😊 Hey Xeno!

I'm sorry to hear that, I fell getting out of bed a few months ago and it hurts! I liked all the colors of that mug I ever saw. Agreed about the owls, lol! I know the video was long but I sure had fun showing all this stuff to everyone and am glad you enjoyed it! The flowers are really cool, I'll have to test them
