Ойындар
Starting with Ancestral + Mox is a nice one, and this deck certainly lived up to its potential.

@@adriaserrano1167 'Magic carpet ride' is a well-known phrase, and 'tar pit' sounds close to 'carpet'.
That first opponent had the most frustrating match of their career. Sheesh.
That round 1 finish was crazy! Having it down to the very last possible mana crypt flip was so wild. The opponent drew really well too to deal with the wurms.
Tilted that the Magic Online cube uses the exact frame for RAV duals that they use for fetchlands.

He found out drawing cards was good will he figure out that opponent not having cards is good??? Find out next time
Watching LSV in the normal queues reminds me of playing video games with the game genie.
Game 2, match 3 we were actually only 1 mana away from hard casting Worldspine Wurm if we don't Clique away the Prism. Thought that might have been a consideration.
@Hunted0LessShirt
3 ай бұрын
I know! He mentioned Prism not being able to cast them earlier on, I realized after the Emerald was the missing piece and got very excited seeing 3 green sources in hand :D If it was just casting Gruff Triplets, it would be pretty sick but trying to get to eleven is pretty wild when this solid V Clique line is available.
I'm so used to watching the team drafts, I keep getting shocked when I see repeat cards show up (Opponent 1 also had Mystic Confluence, Both Opponent 1 and 2 had Mana Crypt).
Round 1 opponent suffered massive amounts of psychic damage with those finishes.
Really surprised he didn’t take Fastbond to try to wheel Ramunap and Zuran Orb that pack.
Gotta love not wheeling Thopter Foundry in pack 3 when whoever took it knows they're not getting sword. Classic MTGO draft
Ahahahah what an absolutely ridiculous round 1 game 2 ending Literal anime-level card game suspense
You speaking of Eldrazi against storm reminded me of a storm deck I had yesterday with LED Lotus Breach Freeze that comboed off twice on turn 2 and lost both rounds because OP had Emrakul lol
Astral Dragon even did something! Not much, but something!

Have not played or watched Magic in a few years and decided to google 'lsv draft'. Fun as ever and kind of makes me want to start again . Btw, is Gaby doing ok too? Used to frequently watch her video's and she seems to have disappeared.
If I was passing to LSV in a random MTGO cube draft, and I opened a Mox Emerald, I would pass it to him. Just saying.
You took Karakas over Profit?
@Dannerrrr
4 ай бұрын
Karakas put in work!
And once again, the Thopter Foundry has vanished without a trace!
I noticed you passing on skydiver on the tail end of pack 1. I love skydiver in these non team drafts assuming you take match 1, by round 2 there will be a higher probability of opponents having moxen/crypt as you're also matched up against other winners
Niceee! Every day hehe gratz from brazil
Figured I'd ask this here because we're all invested in vintage cube. Yesterday I had a P1P1 Time Walk and took a Tamiyo and Regrowth very highly. I was UG splashing off of fetches/triomes for Leyline Binding, T3feri, and black hand disruption. P3P1 I opened a Mox Jet and Displacer Kitten, and I had no fast mana. I did take the mox but part of me wonders if the kitten would have been better (especially with my wealth of planeswalkers and my spellseeker). Did I make the right choice? Btw, went 2-1 with a notable game where I stole a Coveted Jewel using a Birds of Paradise and gave myself 3 extra turns with it
@justinwendt3472

Mox is always the right pick there imo. Faster tempo and earlier wins over the chance of having mega good turns later on.
@markkelso871

You can wheel a kitten at least a good portion of the time.
@dementievatz
4 ай бұрын
Im a little surprised Kitten didn’t wheel. You had a lot of the best cards for it. But yeah, Mox is definitely the right pick.
Round 3, game 2, you Clique'd the pentad prism which would've enabled you to hardcast Worldspine wurm along with the Mox! I guess keeping Karakas up was better though.
But… LSV never sees power!
Congrats on your almost top 8 in Chicago
Yah love to see it!
G/U ramp was so wide open!
I thinkI was drafting with u as the I passed a mox because i got a black lotus, and the pack looks the same
Anyone notice the lastpick pridemage the last few drafts?
Round 3 I was hoping you were going to hard cast Worldspine off mox + prism until you cliques prism away.

i don’t really understand the reasoning behind passing the mind twist for toxic deluge. can you explain? my instinct says it’s a bomb and i think you decided not to take it because the deck is more reactive and this is a proactive interaction
@olazawho
4 ай бұрын
LSV doesn't rate mind twist all that highly, definitely doesn't consider it a bomb. I believe the rational is that the format is just too fast, and plays too much to the board. In a combo-control deck like this LSV would be way more likely to need to catch up on board with a sweeper than be at parity where mind twist is good. You can see a good example of that in the last match where opponent cast a hand-emptying mind twist but just scooped to the board. Not that twist isn't good or anything, but deluge is in contention for the best sweeper in the cube, and fit better into the deck.
Can't wait for next video when lsv says he never opens power
I'm always confused with LSV's opinion of treachery. Like its not a broken card, but I don't think its exactly slow. It's one of the best tempo plays you can make when you play it.
1:05:38 wheel of fortune would make Tourach a 7/6 protected white, and your Ertai would be on the bin though
@ZacharyBurr

That's why you ertai to kill tourach first. Exactly like LSV did 1min later. ;)

Apparently your draft partners at this table did not remotely care about having good fixing, just lands galore in every pack

To be fair, LSV also wasn't taking fixing very highly, it was all just wheeling to him. A few packs this draft made me scratch my head, but it might have just been an adjustment for the weaker, individual drafters. I'm also a scrub, so what do I know.

LSV hates mind twist! lol
What a squeaker of a first match, wow.
I don't know that astral Dragon is the card, but having watched your team Cube drafts a lot now, I'd rather see less cards like Emrakul and other Eldrazi and more cards like astral Dragon and the new Witch-king sky scourge for sneak/flash decks.
