I'm a year late but I'm glad you were thoughtful enough to do this very thoughtful gesture for your fishing buddy! I enjoyed watching. Too bad they didn't have any Shimano reels though. Many big name outdoor stores seem like they are always behind the curve on stocking the best quality most fishing and hunting gear. Sadly, I have to go to the internet to find what I really want very frequently. Their prices are often less flexible that what can be found online.

I was lucky enough to have a uncle that is a big bass fisherman who gave me a blackmax,and I am now soon to buy a lews combo or a slx dc reel

I bought a Shimano slx for my first reel. Did I do good?

Mach Pro are nice combo set ups I have 2 of them in my collection, I feel your pain summer fishing is tuff for me also. But you turned it around and got Chris to break in that baitcaster.

Summer time fishing - Hit the grass , structure and Keep it moving - Worms and early morning ribbit frogs.... I have to much time trying to catch the record bass in my local park and summers where a fight . Never caught the monster but caught more big ones than probably everyone thinking about it 😆 to many 4 plus. I noticed the when fishing pressured bass that have seen everything you really need to have good presentations/ and sinkos are just to big or phat - Try the zoom wacky worm and color June bug < I don’t know what it is but June bug or the overall watermelon red . We have a lot of shimanos down here in west Tennessee

I’m pretty far from you guys but the Bass Pro in BoilingBrook, IL is loaded with Shimano rods and reels

i have struggled with this problem but what you do is basically forget anything that isn't a Texas rig and then work it EXTREEMLY slow on the bottom.

I got some at my bass pro shops in South Carolina

At cabelas in richfield wisconsin they have a pretty good amount of shimano

Chris you have a good friend. Friend who share (who buys you a combo) are friends who care. 👍🎣 I have a challenge that I never gave to lojo or norm. Ear ring challenge, you buy cheap dangly ear rings and make them into a fishing lure. Put some treble hooks mohair or skirts on it and put them to the test. Idk go wild 👍🎣

My cabellas had a few shimanos I think like 5-6 different shimanos I reels and they’re always stocked but I’m all the way out here in Louisville Kentucky, they don’t have curados but they do have Slx dcs and the regular slx
