For untrained ears maybe, not for musicians. Zimmer is a very good sound editor and arranger, but you guys don't really know what that means and how it translates to his music. Yes, in that sense he's talented.

@@dncviorel I try to restrain myself when people say Zimmer is amazing/talented. I rage inside when he is compared to Beethoven/Chopin. He is not impressive and hardly even above average. Meanwhile Danny Elfman is hardly ever mentioned. It goes to show you average is exceptional to most people.

@@JJ-zo7jv Haha, yeah, I feel you, the uneducated do consider him fantastic, but as I said above, in some respects he really is very competent, but as a composer, there isn't much to be amazed of, unless you're one of his fans, mostly kids, that watch his action movies. If I had to pick a decent composer scoring for movies, Ennio Morricone would be my pick. I liked Zimmer's score for Rango and Gladiator, should mention, but far from overwhelmed.

I've watched Interstellar at least 20 times. I just put it on in the background and listen to it like a symphony while doing chores. I don't need to actually watch it any more since I can visualize every scene anyway. But just listening to the soundtrack holds no interest in me. And _that's_ why he's so good. It works with the movie itself. EDIT: John Williams is the other guy I can do the same with. Listen to Schindler's List. Williams, like Zimmer, takes from all the great composers (notably Russian Romanticists in Williams' case), reforms them in that big head of his, and orchestrates them perfectly. But J.S. Bach is the ruler of us all! Cheers!

For me it was a bit to "show offie" for the soul of the piece. For me it lives off of the simplicity and trying to make it more makes it less for me. But taste is different, so glad it was great for you.

Possibly me, but I think she might be his sister and how she shifted over without even looking who was intervening with her play suggest it was planned.
This is the most beautiful thing I've seen in while. When music touches your heart. And two souls come together to create a truly magnificent moment.

I often wonder - do amazing pianists fall in love over moments like these? Idk just the romantic in me.....I'd love to know.💕
There are many people who can play songs on a piano, but from my ears and my experience in playing myself, very few people who play the piano. That might be the a-hole classical trained side of me, but when a piano is played it is not just the keys that move but also the soul.

I love how he was following her lead the entire time. Constantly looking over at her to see what she was doing and taking an already breathtaking piece to the next level. Well done!
She played beautifully. But how the heck is the guy able to just sit down and complement her so damn magnificently? Absolutely amazing!

it always fascinates me how one single instrument can calm people that much down and let them rest. this is what music was made for. to remind people to rest and collect some energy, even if it's only for 3 minutes
Anything around the piano should be frozen in time to let this music play out. Nothing else would make sense. Thanks for sharing!!
