You did a good review on this scooter. I had been riding a vespa primavera, put 32,000 miles on it. I do Just eat, uber and deliveroo. I decided to get a new scooter, I did consider a new primavera, but at the price £4400 I thought a drum brake was unacceptable and really wanted larger wheels. I considered the Liberty, I new the engine is good as it's the same engine as the primavera. Also considered the medley, and Sh125i. I really wanted the larger wheels. I ended up getting the SH125i unseen. I bought it just on spec. 16 inch wheel front and back, 7 litre tank. Abs front and back, traction control, stop start and keyless. Tank is said to give 190 mile range. It came with a top box. I really didn't like the bike during the first three month, I guess I was used to the vespa. I've had the bike almost 1 year and done about 17,000 miles. I love this bike. Brakes are amazing, stop start give almost no delay and keyless is a real bonus for me doing deliveries. It has been great for deliveries, I keep a spare bag under my seat in case of a large order or double Shopping bag hangs on the hook and sits on the flat floor. So far I've done 201 miles on a tank without running out of fuel. The tank holds more than they say, about 7.6 litres. Without the screen it did 74 mph, with the screen more like 68 to 70 mph. The main reason I chose the SH125i is range from a single tank. The main thing that put me off the liberty which I think is an awesome bike, is the range on a tank of fuel. I think the liberty is amazing value for money, just think, the engine and drive is the same as the primavera and look at the price. Sorry I went on so much. Ride safe.

That's an interesting post. A few months back I had a chat on YT with a chap who does deliveries like you. He started on a small wheel scooter and over a year he drew up a list of what he wanted from a scooter. And he bought a SH125 as the scooter that best fitted his needs.

Very well done, as a real world feedback review. One thousand miles is enough I think to get a pretty good assessment of a small displacement machine. I have a2014 Fly150 3Vie and I'm very happy with it, except that the Chicago area has too many large potholes for its 12" wheels. As you noted for the 2021 Liberty, the same can be said for the Fly suspension : can take a bump , but too many in a short stretch or too many road expansion joints and it can be very bothersome. I have found that by sticking to two lane scenic routes the suspension is not so tiresome. And really, that is why I got a 150 - to do "scenic, enjoyable cruising", not to race idiot car drivers and 400cc pocket rockets on I-55. Update Jan '24 : Sold the Fly and got a 2020 Liberty 150 S. Love the bigger wheels and it is a bit better ride over bumps. Agree with your "not-so-good" points : small gas tank, rear brake is a soft drum, doesn't mate well with the front hydraulic. Also, horn is puny, and turn single signal indicator light not so visible ...need left and right plus bigger, brighter. ...Overall tho, an excellent scooter in traffic or on twisty country curves. Well made. PS: I also have a Honda XR150L for off-road ...Liberty not so good for fire trails thru the mountains.

I test rode this scooter over the weekend and really enjoyed it. I enjoyed your video. I am about your size so I was interested in what you said about the fuel range. Would love to see you do a video where you take a small gas tank and put it on the footwell and just ride this thing until it runs out of gas to really test the fuel range out. Then you can fill up and ride home...LOL.

Hi Wayback When. First, Thank you for this review. It's been hard to search for reviews on the Liberty 150 in the USA. All reviews I've seen are in other countries and with no subtitles to understand what they're saying. So, Thank you. Second, the reason I like this review as well, it is because you give your perspective as a bigger rider compared to someone who is smaller built. I feel this will help others who are a bigger such as myself. I myself am looking into getting a Piaggio Liberty 150 S in a few months and your review will help me a lot with my decision. I just need to take a motorcycle course, get a helmet and I'm currently saving for my first scooter. I do wish Piaggio made both wheels with disc brakes as well. I also like that you found an aftermarket LED Bulb to replace the factor bulb on the scooter. Other videos and pictures I've seen, the headlight doesn't seem that bright. If they can make those small side front lights white, then they should have done that with the headlight as well. I wrote down the model number of that LED bulb so when I get my scooter, I can buy the bulb. Also, I've heard from other videos that some people have gotten up too 75 MPH on their scooters but those people were smaller/thin people. My local scooter dealership said that you can get up to that much MPH's but since I'm a bigger person, I'd probably wouldn't get to such speed due to the weight on putting onto the scooter. So, that was good to know. Like you mentioned about the spring shock and how it rides. The dealership told me that I could adjust the spring so that the ride can feel smoother since I was a bigger person. So, that was another good tip from them. One question I had and I've not seen anyone talk about is, what gas to use? Unleaded, Mid-Grade or Premium Gas? If you can answer that, I'd really appreciate it. I do wish you they made the underneath storage bigger so you can store a full helmet to a helmet. Yes, you can hang the helmet by the D-Ring on the side of the seat or take it with you but then what's the point of a helmet storage if you can't store a helmet. Then they should have made the gas tank bigger, right? I also saw your video on the Oil Change as well and it was helpful. Here's another question, will you do any other video's on maintenance of the scooter or maybe how to take off the front or back wheel? I say it would be helpful for those who might not have a trailer or truck to take their scooter to motorcycle shop to have their tire fixed/replaced. Anyways, it would be nice to see some of those type of videos. Oh, what kind of jacket can a big guy get? My problem, I weight is at my stomach and I'm 5'7. I tried a 3XL jacket at Cycle Gear but it felt like a XL and I couldn't close it. I live in Texas and this the Texas Heat & Humidity is killer, so I wouldn't want a jacket that I'm going to be hot in. If you have any input on jackets, please let me know. Anyways, Thank for you review. It sure has helpful. I can't wait to get my Liberty. Be Well.

I will have a video up very soon on how to adjust the shock. The headlight bulb is an H4 daylight walker. I may have said H3 in the video but that’s not correct. As far as the jacket goes I wear a thick vest made of denim. Also check out my blog. screaminbeez.com/f/piaggio-liberty-1000-mile-review.

Hey dude, bear in mind the reserve on this thing is massive. On 2 occasions, I filled up 40km after the reserve light came on and there was still 1 litre of fuel left in the tank. So far, I get 180km out of the tank with a litre still left in it. Of course, I'm a light rider, and seeing that you travel on open roads a lot, the consumption is going to be higher, but just know that you get a lot of miles after the reserve light comes on. Also, turn the shock preload to max so it doesn't bottom out. I only weight 70kg and had to turn it to max to get the proper sag.

How is the light pattern now that you've removed the very bright stock 55/60W Halogen bulb? Problem with a (LED) bulb which is not designed to work with the stock reflector bucket is a "flood light" pattern - blinding to oncoming cars and not properly focused on the road for night riding. If one doesn't ride at night - the problem is never noticed....except by oncoming drivers. Perhaps your LED is different and IS properly focused on the roadway (driving mode and bright mode) It would be the first one to do so in my experience. Many new scoots use an LED headlight - and use a reflector bucket specifically designed to work with that bulb.

First of all, you should have left the headlight alone. Mine makes plenty of light. LED lights blind other drivers (I have had to wear sunglasses and/or tinted face shields at night because of them. They should be illegal. There is nothing wrong with the rear brake. If you can't adjust it slightly every thousand miles, or if it's that big of a deal, then maybe you shouldn't be riding a scooter or motorcycle. They do require some attention from the owner/rider. I can't believe people aren't asking for bikes that change their own oil. All bikes (and cars as well) could use a larger gas tank. I had a Yamaha Vino 125 that I put over 36,000 miles on, and it had a 70 mile range until the tank ran dry. And in southern AZ, that is not always enough to make it from one gas station to another. Carrying an extra gallon of gas gave me a 140 mile range. I weigh 240, and have no problem with the performance for a 150. Remember, this is a budget scooter. I have the standard model, I love chrome and absolutely hate matte black. I would have gladly paid an extra $100, or even $200 for the chrome. Mine is dark blue. I wish I could have gotten a red one, they did make them for a couple of years. If you want a nightmare of a scooter, get a Honda PCX150, and pay $400 to have the valves checked/adjusted every 2500 miles. You have to tear the entire scooter apart to even get to the valves.
