Can you wear barefoot shoes while you’re trying to heal your plantar fasciitis?

Hey! The traditional recommendations would be to use arch support/inserts to reduce the stresses to the plantar fascia to let it calm down, but I could see barefoot shoes helping in some ways but also potentially aggravating it. If you have an ankle mobility issue contributing to your plantar fasciitis and/or the plantar fasciitis is really irritated to begin with, then I could see it aggravating it. If it's just an ankle and foot intrinsics weakness that's contributing to the plantar fasciitis, then it's possible barefoot shoes could help it by strengthening the muscles to support the plantar fascia. But you'd have to make sure not to over-do it. Hope it helps!
