An update on the Disney physical media in Australia situation. Disney have signed a deal with All Interactive, who took over distribution for Sony/Universal in Australia last year. However, Disney has thus far said no to any new releases. After the majority of their physical media was recalled last year, All Interactive has been able to at least get all of the discs that had been produced only to be locked away in the Disney vault back on the shelves. So at least you can once again find copies of a lot of their previously released films and shows. There's also a possibility that some of these releases will remain in print or be re-released from time to time, it's just the newer releases that, at this stage, are unlikely to get a physical release in Australia. Fortunately, UK BluRays will play in any Australian BluRay player as we share the same region code, so you can get most of those newer releases from the UK. Although even they have limits on what can and can't have a physical release. Hopefully it will turn around though as more and more people are getting fed up with streaming.

@@BraveBladeProductionst’s not likely. They will just use the excuse it is too expensive to produce. Even Xbox has stopped physical games in most regions.

The record store interviewed was Red Eye in Sydney which has been a mecca for music nerds for over 20 years, so they're going to be selling a lot more variety of weird and wonderful albums than the more mainstream JB customers would be interested in. That said, I have been surprised to see young people as obsessed as I was with The Beatles, Bowie and other classic rock acts as I was when I was there age, except I was bullied for being into that stuff in the 90s lol. As for Taylor Swift, she's doing the same as what the K-Pop acts are doing. The difference is that they have 8 people in the band and rather than a nice photo of the group on the cover, they get one version of the album each. Taylor releases 4 alternate covers on CD, sometimes with a different bonus track, plus multiple colours of vinyl. It's kind of a scam but it's also just genius marketing when you've got that kind of fanbase that will buy literally anything. Taylor Swift could release an album that's just 30 minutes of her farting and it'd still make it to the top of the charts even without the marketing scam, but by doing the scam, she can guarantee that she'll not only make the top of the charts but she'll be swimming in money, Scrooge McDuck style.

Referring anything great as "mecca" when mecca is where all the pedophile, homophobic, antisemite, misogynstic, rapist terrorist of the islamic world dwell is still weird, strange and obviously sad to me. Why use the term? Why compare it to something that is flat out horrible? I don't get it.

Awesome vid I have a dvd bluray collection in my mancave I have movies you can't find streaming. And all the extra features the making of deleted scenes you can't stream that. Fav movie Back to the Future blyray I watch it all the time if I streamed its 6$ per view Physical media the Dishes are Done man🤣🤘

My dvd player came in the mail today, 39 dollars. I heard you say LASER and thought that sounded familiar...and yep, its a LASER. Came without input cables which sucked though lol

Yep they're everywhere.

3d blue ray is the king of physical media. Almost impossible to copy. Most copies are half resolution… all 2d can be downloaded as remux files indistinguishable from a disc. But part of me hopes 8k physical is released since streaming platforms bit rate is horrible

Pc no longer can play blue rays etc, dure to intel dropping features, that the copy protection uses. So you got rip your original to hdd to play it on it.

Laser is a brand? Really . I think I’ll keep my Oppo 203 region free player and my Toshiba Xe1 HD DVD player with the snazzy backlit remote control and blue lighting over that 😁 Nothing better than chilling out on the recliner watching the pretend problems of the world A Current Affair covers most nights anyway .
