As if the alcohol "ban" has ever stopped any thai restaurant from serving alcohol.

You are “just now” seeing that the law treats Thais differently from foreigners?

The law does not treat Thais and foreigners differently. Go to the latest Thai constitution written in 2017 and post any differences in this thread. Go ahead.

What's the difference between what Thailand does and western nations who treat woke transgender and climate activists differently and far more leniently than other non non woke offenders who are immediately designated as being "far right extremists"? Double standards rule in the west! I think we invented the concept. Can't see how anyone can have a dig at Thailand for doing what all other nations do.

I remember that Swiss guy david biggest mistake was he thought he was kicking poor people off his property instead of a wealthy female doctor from a good family then threatened them with police retaliation because they were friends with the chief if I recall correctly

Yes, and that is the whole problem with Thailand, "Arbitrary enforcement of laws" as they see fit, varies by person, perhaps by province, basically they make it up as they go. Well, that's why its cheap living there.

An expat was run over and killed by a drunken Thai speeding through a red light in Phuket and the police refused to even give him a drunk test and swept the whole mess under the rug. What makes you think the police would do anything about a mere slap in the face? Things like this have completely soured me on even wanting to visit Thailand let alone want to live there.

Good video. Tough call on two subjects. The third, alcohol and restaurant, no brainer, yes should be. A restaurant is the main place to eat, secondary is alcohol, but many people will want to cheat, on all sides. Don't know how to word it, maybe have a floor space regulation. Second the slap, yes, guy has done a runner. But what law could you put in place without upsetting the Thai's in other areas. Maybe the shop owner should have done more if it was a worker. If shop owner then close the store and possibly confiscate his stock etc. until he returns under a time limit obviously. Could see maybe more corruption by authorities, but from most accounts that is normal.

The third item, post and scam. Who would pay the costs, I have personally been in this situation. Bad luck and beware. Companies are nearly always wrong sometimes. Who do you blame. Management, workers, post or their workers. If you are buying something expensive get it from a reputable company or locally.

I think the issue is with delivery companies. For example many top brands have stores on Lazada or Shoppee but it’s not unknown for the package to turn up in poor condition. I recently bought a green screen from a highly reputable company. The delivery company took it on a tour of Thailand and then lost it. Then found it and tried to drop it off whilst damaged.
