Hi Darren, I've been watching your videos for the past year now. I'm from The Bahamas and will be visiting Phuket for my second year in a row September 17th-23rd 2019. I always find your videos interesting and I'm looking forward to visiting Chillva Market.

Hello, hello! Interesting 'Chrysanthymum' drink, along with other interesting types there! The wrapped leaves toward the end with the shrimp, peanut, lime chunk, etc. looked very interesting😛 What caught my attention again is the 'homemade' fresh *icecream*. No "vegetable-gum" thickeners like here in the States. Oh yea! That charcoal* cooked

Thanks Farley. Pretty much every market in Thailand has a shop (or 2) selling these shoes. Generally they are around 100 baht for a pair. I hope that helps :)

Highly recommended! Very different to your standard Phuket market.

Dude I just came back from Phuket.... Watching this makes me wanna immediately go back... Luckily I live in Singapore and it's only a 2hr flight hahaha

Darren, is there a taste difference between the local river prawn and ocean prawn?

Yes, they taste noticeably different. The river prawns are a bit sweeter, have a milder seafood flavour and they have a softer texture.

Oh my... I'll take 2 plates w/5 very large shrimps please @ that price under $5.00 all day long. Yes indeed, yes indeed..... But you couldn't get me to eat liver unless I had mash potatoes & gravy. I would eat the chicken gizzards & hearts. I love them. Here in Missouri we use the chicken livers to catch catfish. My Dad liked chicken livers. Yuck! I'm going to have to come up w/a poem to tell how I feel about seafood then have a tattoo made... lol... I'll just get one big lobster or shrimp covering my whole back..... lol.... not. Them seem to look like they hurt. And I'm trying to stay out of pain. Life decisions what to do & what not so your kids don't follow in your foot steps & make dumb decisions like you did growing up. Well until next time you get to tease me w/seafood. You do it so well bc it's cheaper where you live then where I live, Chris from Missouri

Hahaha. Those shrimps are delicious Chris, they are quite famous in Thailand. They'll be in a video coming soon. I don't mind gizzards & hearts, but liver is my favorite. Thai people know how to make delicious chicken liver. I don't have any tattoos, but yes, I'm pretty sure they hurt ;) Hope you're having a great weekend in Missouri!

Do you have to ask permission and pay the vendors extra to video them since you make money on these videos?
