  I have eaten fresh sea food in Thailand plenty of times and without exception, it has been overcooked, so if you like dried prawns, rubbery scallops, and dehydrated fish, order seafood at any restaurant. The only exception is the roadside BBQ stalls where they cook it quickly on charcoal.

  Right now it is sunny with a few clouds. Most days lately it has been raining for about 15 minutes to an hour, but usually the rain has been coming in the evening, at night, or very early in the morning (5am-7am).

  Unfortunately the weather in the tropics is unpredictable and all I can say is that in August sometimes it rains, and sometimes it doesn't, the same as at any other time of the year. It really is luck of the draw and it seems to change from year to year. Having said that, my second ever-holiday in Thailand was in Ao Nang in August 2011 and I saw rain on one day of the 18 days that I was here. I hope that helps.

  I've never seen the clam and noodles dish before. Would like to try it. Shrimp and stink beans are delicious. Though I have to be careful how much I eat of it because stink beans tend to "perfume" me for a couple of days afterwards. Have to keep lots of breath mints and deodorant handy. 🙂

  Watching you enjoy your food this morning reminds me that I haven't made my Thai inspired Simmo Chicken stir fry for myself and Julia for a while. We even bought Thai spoons which we haven't used yet. I intend to make one this week! 😂

  Yes, use your common sense and you'll be fine. I buy food from markets like this nearly every day, but I'm a bit careful with what I eat. I the shop looks dirty I'll go elsewhere. If I buy chicken and it is not cooked all the way through I will either microwave it for a few minutes, or throw it in the bin, depending on where I am. If the food doesn't taste right, or smells weird I throw it in the bin. If you do have issues my recommendation is to get to a pharmacy or doctor as soon as possible and tell them exactly what you're symptoms are. I've seen people who leave it too long and then spend the rest of their holiday feeling terrible. It doesn't cost much to get professional help here I hope that helps, have a great holiday!

  Thank you! I will be doing a video of some excellent noodle restaurants in Ao Nang soon, but unfortunately they aren't real close to the beach. The closest noodle spot to the beach I like is the pad Thai place here: maps.app.goo.gl/XkUqNUT7Niu1npeB6 There are some great looking noodle dishes at Ao Nang Landmark Night Market too, but I haven't had the chance to try any of them yet. I hope that helps.
