Phrozen Transform review - HUGE resin 3D printer!

Ғылым және технология

Found out everything about Phrozen Transform large scale resin 3D printer in this in-depth video review.
Phrozen Transform is large scale resin 3D printer, it comes with 4K 13.3 inch LCD screen, print size is 290x160x400mm and the print quality is superb. With this huge print size the Phrozen Transform can compete even with most FDM 3D printers in terms of print size but, it will blow them all away with outstanding resin print quality.

    An added benefit of a huge build platform is the ability to print different iterations of a design all at once. Would be especially handy when printing 'useful' items that need to fit (items with threads, to be cast, etc). Can print the size you think you need, then several more, each scaled up 1%. One of them should account for the inevitable resin shrinkage. Big time saver.

    Always check your build plate before you print in case a piece of cured resin is stuck to it. Because, on the next print, the build plate with crush this remnant piece into the FEP vat liner and your precious LCD mask plate, possibly doing much damage. Also check the resin filled vat for large cured chunks hidden in the uncured, liquid resin.

    I've been looking for a machine just like this, but man, I'm gonna have a time convincing the missus it's necessary! I really love putting tons of detail in my models and using fibermesh hair, but as a great as my delta is, the amount of finish work to get my figure models ready for a cast is getting to be debilitating in time, resources and creativity, not to mention the detail lost versus the source model. You nailed it on the price, but if these come down to like sub 1K in the next year (preferably sooner!) I'll be on one like a hobo on a ham 'sammich!

    Hey Nexi! First, I love your channel and I have a TronXY that I managed to make work thanks to your videos. I love this resin printer but I have a couple of questions if you dont mind: -What is the maximu volume that you can print? because I feel that the maximum printable is the maximum that the tray can hold? Can you refill that during the print? I am looking for something where I could do moulds for functional carbon fiber parts so the build volume is kind of important. Thanks a lot! Guille

    Guillermo Tebar Hi Guille and thanks for your comment. I'm glad that my videos was helpful to you. Maximum print volume is 290x160x400mm. Tray can fit object(build plate) of 290x160mm size and the LCD is big enough to cure the entire surface of the build plate.Yes you can refill resin during printing or open enclosure door any time you want. I never tried to make any molds with this machine but I have seen resin online that are ment to be use as cast resins. Best regards Nexi

    Protomaker Black Sprint Original 3D Printer I used foam from the packaging box and I cut out the peaces and fit it around the window while I cut out only place for ventilation end housing. It's not permanent ventilation solution and it does not look nice but it does the job temporally and it was very effective.

    I would highly suggest adding the supports manually. Chitubox's automatic support generator adds WAAAY more than you need, you could probably get away with 1/10 of the supports you need not only leaving fewer support nubs on the print (so higher quality finishes), but also using a lot less resin on prints like the alien figurine. There is special software out there that can show you if you missed any needed supports.

  • @NexiTech

    @NexiTech

    3 жыл бұрын

    I agree. For the beginners that could be a bit problematic but for experienced makers adding supports manually are the way to go. Saving resin, saving time for removing supports and also getting a better print with less scars. Thanks for your comment.

    Looks great, but why do most of these companies think the USB in back good? Please put it in front. Or at the very least on the side! Of course since it has WiFi, that was good move. Not sure if you did this. But those fans probably don't have a lot of CFM power. So that long of a vent hose will really degrade how much air is actually being pushed. I would add larger or 2nd fan at the other end of your vent hose so help move the fumes away. That is what I do for my resin printers.

    Great review - I have the same printer and just learning how to use it. I really want to print the Xenomorph Alien that you did - I’m wondering how you set up that print- did you hollow it or is it solid? The model is very complex and I can’t find a nice place to put any drainage holes without ruining the model. The thighs, chest and head all end up with cavities that don’t connect, but I really don’t want to have holes in all those parts of the model. What app did you use to slice it, and would you be willing to share the sliced file?

    @H D 400 hours LCD lifespan divided by 44 hour print

  • @NexiTech

    @NexiTech

    4 жыл бұрын

    John Jones I'm sorry but I think that's wrong. That 44 hour print time(Alien) is total print time including time between layers. Lets do a quick math: Standard Curing time is 6 seconds, Alien figure had 7940 layers. That means 7940x6= 47640 seconds. 47640/60= 794min/60= 13.23h. So actually LCD exposed time under UV light is 13.23hours and that is if you print full 400mm scale model in very hight print quality. Lets assume that average life span of LCD is 400hours. So 400h/12.23h= 30.2 prints, printed at full 400mm scale at hight print quality (0.05mm layer heght). So you should able to print around 30 Aliens figure at Max print size before LCD start to degrade and it needs replacement.
