I just found you tonight. 1) Your tutorials are awesome. 2) You're so generous to offer all the free stuff you make available on your website. 3) How in the world did you create your computer desktop? I want to do that to mine!

Hello, thank you for the awesome tutorial, but I have a question, for the first thick pattern, if you set 75 pixels, for a 500 pixel canvas, I am very sure it will not have so many lines but just 6. I would like to know what is wrong, I use the cs6

I’m not sure what you mean. If the canvas is 75px wide the stripe will be half the size for the space between stripes, so 40 to 45 pixels.

When we get to the point that we want to export it, personally I prefer png, are we able to change the size in order to be bigger than the initial document? Or is it better to start with a bigger document? Thank you

Make it a repeating pattern to go bigger or if you know the final document size I would start with that. It’s always better to start big and go smaller.

In Preset Manager, I only Have Contours and Tools.

Hi .... So came back to try this again and had way more success. I'm at the end of the tutorial where I click on preset manager but when I click on preset type the only thing that drops down is contours and tools! Patterns and Styles aren't even listed in the drop down box. I'm able to open patterns from a bar on the right and I can save right there but like you said if anything happens I could lose it .

If you’re working in 2020 or later you will have to export from the patterns or styles window you can get there by going to window>>patterns then click the three lines in the top corner and “export selected patterns” the same process for styles

@@PrettyWebzMedia Okay great I'll try that when I get to that part again. Yes been going over it repeatedly! lol For me this is a great tutorial and its wonderful that you respond so quickly. I have another question. I'm trying to make small skinny stripes in a combination of teal, black and royal blue all on a white back ground. Do I need to make a set of each of those colors or is there another way to do it with just the black stripes?

I'm pretty sure I made this video in CC 2018 so it might be outdated for you. If you don't see your properties go to Window>>Properties that should bring up the properties panel for the type of object you have selected. So, if you have a shape selected you will see the shape properties, raster images will have different properties, etc. so make sure you have the correct object selected.
