Wow... genius video! I was going to ask for your crushed foil and if you have any video on it, referring back on a design you have on one of your videos with patterns that are striped and the stripes being this crushed foil. Amazing!

Hi Mercedes, I'm trying this out and between each stroke, the background color keeps switching from solid white to solid black. Do you know why that might be and how I could turn it off?
@PrettyWebzMedia
3 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure, I’ve never had that happen. I do know that the difference mode inverts the color in your image each time you click and drag so that may be why you’re seeing the drastic changes in color. I usually add a very slight click to get back to the color I want.

I'm learning to do this kind of textures, I find an excellent tutorial, I just have a doubt, maybe it's very basic, but if I don't ask, I don't learn!!!! What do you mean when you say :Click Hold and drag your mouse across the screen in small strokes, what I don't understand is how do I do hold?! is it in the mousse, or in photoshop? thanks for teaching us!
@PrettyWebzMedia
2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! I'm talking about the mouse. When you click down, keep it held down while you drag the mouse to make a line. You want short clicks so you get more creases. This part takes a while, longer than I showed in the video so be patient but it will come together.

I love this one! I want to upload my design on the print on demand. I created my designs on 5000px x 5000px . I want to create seamless pattern so First I go to. Offset :2500 x 2500 and than click define pattern. When I apply this seamless pattern to bigger size artboard like 6000 x 6000 for tapestry etc It looks like this design is in 5 or squares.. It doesn’t look good. Any suggestion? Thankyou

Watch this video by the Photoshop Training Channel kzread.info/dash/bejne/n2GHrJWQiZC9nLw.html In this video, he makes a seamless pattern from a photo with a lot of variation in highlight and shadow which is what you will need for metallics. As for printing, you may know this but, metallics do not transfer well to print so you will get a much more muted version of your design. Make sure that you create the pattern using CMYK or Pantone colors, depending on your printer. Creating a really good seamless metallic can be frustrating until you get the hang of it, so be patient with yourself :-)

mini mini If you’ve made the crushed foil into a pattern and you’re getting the squares, you can either increase the size of the pattern or you can use the clone stamp to get rid of the lines that run across.

The best bet is making the larger pattern, the clone stamp doesn’t work very well with metallics, unfortunately. The light and shadow variations make it difficult to make the seams undetectable. You can do it but it’s time consuming.

@bizbizkaren

Yes, I did have it set to difference. I believe that I have the latest version of Photoshop. I don't know if that makes a difference. I followed everything to the letter and it did not work. I'm trying to do it in small strokes and it seems like by the time I start working on another area the areas I've already worked on start fading away.
