    This is how we should build GTA Earth! Perhaps we could all crowdsource 3d photogrammetry and stream the world like MSFS2020. Or we could use swarms of drones to scan every area.

    Ah, I was hoping for version 1.0 but now I see and fully understand why that's not such a compelling idea. 239 hrs! I wonder if just projecting those high quality textures onto manually created models would look good? Sort of a hybrid approach. Please keep experimenting. Great work!

    maybe the combination of photogrammetry and hand made models could achieve the best results. For example swapping the photogrammetry trees for some better ones would improve the ifnal result by A LOT...with not so much works. ....stuff like buildings etc in fact looks better on the photogrammetry uneven version compared to manually created square boxes...good luck with all your attempts! Exciting to see what else can be achieved here!

  • @lipsach

    @lipsach

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes, lidar can be combined with images for texture, and it is great for scanning but it is somewhat expensive gear for personal projects. Also creating virtualy whole europe is huge amount of data. It would have to work from some huge server similar to MS flight simulator.

    I'm really interested in your work! keep it up man, you're surreal. I'm learning stuff that can finally help me creating the perfect road track. I live in Italy and we have long roads all connecting to Roma, obv. my favorite ones are those that follows the region's geography near the sea because they have a lot of corners and a great view, usually. for example, the one that I want to do is from Cogoleto to Savona. on google maps it will suggest you the highway but if you stay on the main road with street view, you'll see what I mean. many thanks again for making what used to be only a dream, possible. I don't know if it will be polished like the Monaco street circuit of Project Cars. it maybe will have more details but I'm still starting modelling so the final product is what scares me the most. also, roads here are garbage so I'll save some time smoothing the road lol. I'll sub to you and patiently wait for another awesome video. Wish all of you the best and an happy new year!

    excuse me I was looking to configure a two way. I have to create two ac_starts and two finishes, one for the outward journey and another for the return trip, or I can make a start then the finish only at the end of the course. And I have side roads I should define them as extend or something like this so as not to confuse with what I would like to define as the circuit? There is no video for this how to place these cubes according to a one lane or two lane etc, I understood that it was necessary to place several ac_time if the circuit is long max 3 I believe... In my case where the map also has side roads in streets that have nothing to do with where I want to race, if I place my times only on the highway and the return lane to return to the highway in the other meaning the game will understand that the turn is only on the highway for example and not on the roads in the city? I haven't found anything apart from videos that talk about the basics of the basics on how to orient your cubes and where to place your pit, its start and its times but not even for the hotlap and the rest
