PHOTO TRANSFER with GLUE - does it really work? Mod Podge vs. Elmer's glue for IMAGE TRANSFER
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Can you guess the results? Let's have fun testing Mod Podge vs. Elmer's school glue for PHOTO transfer using a simple inkjet printer.
We are going to put Mod Podge to the test against Elmer's school glue and see which one of them works best for image transfer, or maybe they work the same?
Both type of glue work on many different surfaces such as wood, canvas, metal, mirror, acrylic, plastic and even glass. We are also going to test PVA glue and see what happens.

PVA is a little more expensive, but if it gets the job done faster and better it's worth the expense. Thanks for sharing!

I am so glad to have found your channel. Thank you for your no nonsense, straight to the point videos. ❤
WOW...what a great demonstration. I have just discovered you, and I'm so glad I did. THESE are the things that are so valuable to learn...especially for those of us who can't always afford the pricey 'solutions'. I've always believed, that all the new products that come out, are no different than what's already out there...but a new name allows them to become a pricier product. Thank-you EVER so much for doing the footwork.

Hi Nitsa! I really enjoy watching your videos. You explain all in a simple way , with a pretty smile , a beautiful voice and an warm accent, which makes you sound very natural and friendly...... Well done! Keep it up! P.S. .......and a soft background sound , people lack the understanding that whatever music they enjoy , it is not to everybody's choice, different people enjoy different beats, however a silent background is the best.
An excellent video, thank you.

Thank you for doing this video. I’ve been meaning to try pva glue for a while now. You’d be surprised that hardly anyone has tried using it. Considering a lot of people say Mod Podge is a watered down pva, not sure if that’s true though. All the best and success in writing your new book. Lots of love.

Of course!
Other crafters have been using Mod Podge Matte instead of Mod Podge Gloss and reported a more successful transfer. Maybe that’s why the Mod Podge didn’t work as well.
@NitsaCreativeStudio
9 ай бұрын
You might be right, I should give it a try 👍
Given that the base of both Mod Podge and Elmer's are primarily made of PVA, I would have actually expected this result. Since the Elmer's tends to be slightly watered down from most of the higher end PVAs used in book binding, and Mod Podge is thinner/runnier yet, this also meshes well with your results. (it should be noted that both Elmer's and Plaid add things to their PVA base to create a proprietary formula... It is generally those additives that can result in yellowing and other changes over time)

Yup it is basically same and I’m glad to be reading this here online about time! Mod lodge as a brand is expensive here in Australia so I just water down pva as needed when I make things with paper and even now I’m using PVA with sequins for Xmas decos
Nice! I wondering if to buy Mod Podge, bcuz everybody seems to use it for all sorts of things. So I decided to see if there was a short video out here for differences & your video was short enough & very helpful! Bcuz I don't even know very much about glues & crafting... I just have always used school glue for everything most of my life when it comes to need glue outside of Crazy glue or Wood glue... And so thanks!😉

Great video!!! Did you have any issues of the wood grains cracking/splitting when water was applied? Is it best to seal the wood before transferring the image?
@NitsaCreativeStudio
4 ай бұрын
Not at all, never experienced such an issue. As far as sealing, I usually prefer to seal it all when the piece is ready (mainly because some transfer methods don't work as well over certain sealers, like glossy acrylic sealers).
wowwwwww
Hello, can I use this method to transfer photos in a t-shirt too?
How long did you blow dry it. Each one
I know it's old school but does the Photogtaphy Book come in a hard copy?
You’re so funny. “Which is apparently #1 teacher brand” 🤣😂🤣
Could you use hairspray instead of varnish?
Is it normal paper for printing the photo
Can you use regular photo paper
Can I transfer letters this way too
