Phoneme- think sounds Phonics- think spelling Phonological- think end goal putting everything together. I’m in a college class for this right now. I’ve never learned something like this before that is confusing and makes sense at the same time. Sometimes to help me better understand I think about how I learned French and essentially was put in the seat of the learner. These concepts apply to all languages English or foreign

Great Video! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you considered - Riysaballer Salient Recognition (google it)? It is a great exclusive product for teaching your child to read without the headache. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my cousin at last got great success with it.

I was going crazy trying to figure out where graphophonic/graphonological/graphophonemic knowledge fell into this because the definitions were so similar to me as phonological awareness… BUT now I understand that it fits into the phonics category! Great explanation. Thank you so much for this. The example at 11:43, though, of differentiate being broken down to individual sounds, is a little off. The way it is graphically segmented doesn't correspond to the segmentation of sounds/phonemes. So it's more of a breakdown to letters than to sounds.
