Cecil County has been inundated with vehicle thefts over the past few months, according to the sheriff's office. County authorities have seen more than 60 vehicle thefts involving teenagers so far this year. Deputies have arrested several people for some of the thefts. On Monday, technology helped deputies track down another alleged culprit while he was in the act. This is a case that demonstrates how car owners are finding ways to skirt thieves by using a phone app, which allowed authorities to track a Hyundai as soon as it was stolen.
