    Sloppy coaching. When they're winning with a 31 point lead the coach needs to leave them alone and let them play instead of putting Wheeler in, who never seems to pass to CC when she's wide open and almost losing this game. It's ridiculous. There should be a coaching change in the near future.😑

In 40 years watching and playing ball, this is the first time I have been tracking WNBA and I´m glad CC made me do it. She´s truly in the way to become one of the best if not the best WNBA player or all time. She reminds me a lot of Steve Nash gamestyle (but kinda better in a different way) or Steph. Kudos.

  • @2000bustindustin

    @2000bustindustin

    Ай бұрын

    I agree with you that taking a last place team to the playoffs is a significant accomplishment, and that she's definitely one of the most important players to her team in the league, but nobody is taking the MVP from A'ja Wilson this year; she's a runaway for that award - averaging 27 pts, 11.6 RB, 2 steals and nearly 3 blocks a game, on 52% FG. Unstoppable! And her last 4 games are much better than those averages, so it's only going up from there. But I agree with you that CC is coming on strong and will be a contender for the MVP next year (along with a few other players). It's massive upside for CC in the coming years.

Those touchdown passes by CC are beautiful to watch.

    This was stark difference to the previous game vs the mystics where AB had foul trouble and resistence from an equally sized player and KM had an off night shooting late in the game. Fever have their weaknesses but when the figure out how to win when not everyone is on target, the can be hard to beat. But make no mistake, they are not yet a good/great team or serious playoff contender yet. Hopefully in the near future.

    I want to dispute the notion that it's CC vs the rest of her teammates. That's more racist pandering. So many critics try to say that it's not all one player(it's not) and want to discount the effect of good play making. For sure if the Fever don't score, it makes everyone look bad. But when they do? Other than the one in one plays, it looks like poetry in motion. The question is, does anyone think that they are a better offense when KM is over dribbling around the court and then chucking up a long 3 which sometimes goes in? Or AB or NS receives the ball 15-17 feet away and has to back her defender down into the paint with 5-10 dribbles? Or the motion offense that CC brings?

    CC is the total package! When I watch her play I see Magic, Jordan and Bird. As like Bird she keep getting layups because Phx left the door open to her. I see she enjoys more assisting a teammate with a basket for two reasons. One it elevates her teammates, family and community. I also see how happy she went it humiliates the opposing defending player. She truly enjoys being doubled teams and making the defense pay for their mistake. Letting them make it close like that at the end is a tip of the cap to Phoenix, the final score didn't tell the story of how dominant Indiana looked in this one.

    Wheeler has been an issue since the first game of the season. She doesn't pass to CC when she's wide open. The coach needs to leave the starting players alone when they're winning and let CC run the offense without restrictions. They played awesome for 3 quarters with a 31 point lead then Sides puts in Wheeler and the whole game went to hell. Ridiculous. At least they held on and won the game. CC's frustration was pretty obvious.😵‍💫

    Taurasi's comments about CC were harsh but correct. When she said "reality is coming" she was telling the truth. It takes a lot of adjusting when a player moves up from college to pro. It's not going to work exactly like it did in college. Pro basketball is more physical and more exhausting, especially with the rigorous 40 game schedule they have. You could tell early on CC was exhausted in some of the early games and interviews. I'm a huge CC fan been watching her play since Iowa, but I can't deny Taurasi's assessment of everything was pretty spot on. I also admire the fact that she treated CC like a fellow WNBA player in the 1st Fever/Mercury game a while back. Talking and Joking with her. I felt the same as you early on, but I think Taurasi was just giving an honest opinion of what was coming and CC has adapted really well.😃
