Imagine this happening on your birthday.....which leads to you being fired.....on your birthday.......
It's amazing that lineup could score 12 runs in a series, let alone in one inning.
This is the game where Bryce Harper decided he wanted to be on the Phillies

This was Jeremy Guthrie's 38th birthday -- and his final appearance in the big leagues after an 11-year career. He ended 2017 with a 135.00 ERA and a WHIP of 15 (to be fair, that's because this was his ONLY appearance that year -- 10 earned runs in 2/3 of an inning.) He finished his MLB career 91-109 and a 4.42 ERA.
Phils finished 66-96. This was the highwater mark of their 2017 season. Nats went to the playoffs with a 97-65 record.
This is 36 minutes. I can't even Imagine how long this was in real time with all the pitching changes.

As I began watching this video I had wondered what happened to Jeremy Guthrie, since I live in the DC area and see the National fairly often (although I'm a Phils fan). Good lord, to be forced out of MLB in such ignominious fashion had to suck.

Being a kid who got into baseball around 2013, watching the phillies rebuild was tough, but we had some awesome moments. Im kinda sad we dont have any faces still from this lineup... aside from Aaron nola.
It's horrible watching one mans career end in one inning.
One amazing thing about this inning is that the Phillies were batting 1.000 for this game through their first 15 batters (because sac flies don't count as times at-bat).
17:56 inning should have been over right here. And I'm a huge philly fan
This was a game I attended. It was hysterical. And this was before we had Hoskins. Can we go back to hitting like this please?

A tremendous performance.
As a mets fan, I absolutely despise every team in the NL East except for the Marlins. This is the only time ever I will be happy to see the phillies be successful in any way shape or form
Bruh that’s just disrespectful how they clapped for him 😭😭
17:55 is a strike, bad call by the umpire that basically ruined the pitchers career. Shame on him
and not one home run was hit. wow.

what do they post for a guy who is batting around, in the first inning ? double and a walk triple and a single single and a walk..... it was amazing to see 47 pitches in the first part of the first inning.

I'm not even a big fan of baseball but for some reason I find it hilarious that the Nationals won the W.S. as soon as Bryce left.

Never ever a fan of the Nationals, but I feel really bad for Guthrie. Pretty sure that was his worst Birthday ever. Go Phillies!
Lmao bro the announcer said it was a 36 min 1st inning at the 35 mark😂
I wonder when Guthrie had that realization that he will not be throwing a perfect game tonight ? I saw his face the announcers were talking about batting around, I was thinking that might be the moment.
Sitting here thinking it’s at least the 7th inning. Nah bot 1st
Everybody hits woho
They did this to this man on his birthday lol
least he can do on his birthday is to give gifts. lol.
The ump was calling them reaall tight as well
Announcer called it 🤣🤣🤣
Leave it to Cameron Rupp to end this inning
talk about getting your wish...11 runs, we could use that here. MLB gods were listening.
It's kinda like a foreshadowing when they talk about them scoring 11 runs against K.C. and how they would take that there on that day.. well, the Phillies did them one better
This is before Rhys Hoskins😱😂
Thoughts: 1. Damn this lineup is unremarkable 2. They did this to Guthrie on his birthday 3. Announcers mentioned Guthrie getting took for 11 in an inning early on lmao

Not a Nats fan at all, but because I'm human, I felt bad for Guthrie.
If Franco could go to opposite field like he did in this inning he'd be a much better hitter, but for whatever reason he just can't do it with consistency. Too many grounders to 3rd base.
that poor Nats pitcher was really struggling....
