The SH98 blades are a noticeable improvement, especially for dry shaving.

My only issue with this is that the case is huge and the wireless charger is not practical for travel.

I believe I read somewhere that you can remove the bottom of the shaver's plug / cap to use a standard Philips charging cord. I would assume that's true because there are packs available WITHOUT the wireless pad for sale hence they'd send a standard charger

Where do you get the head covers please? I am in Australia.

Does the prestige have more power / more rpms then the previous 9000 ? I have a norelco s9321 and a braun 9035 - the braun seems to give me a better shave and in less time.

I have the older Norelco Sensotouch shaver which is similar to the older 9000. I was able to put the newer Prestige blades/cutter on my old unit and I found a nice improvement in the way it cuts. Do you think it worth getting the updated Prestige with its bells and whistles are just stick with my older Norelco with the newer Prestige blades installed? Is there any benefit with the newer body?

I don’t think this model can be charged with a cord.

S9000 has 3 rotation speed mode as you show but s9031 has only one mode. If you compare the rotation speed of s9031 and s9000 prestige. What is the equvalent of s9031 speed on s9170. Does s9031 single mode operate at slow modarate or fast mode compared to 9170?

I have used Norelco more than 50 years and never used a cover for the heads..??

The major drawback is that it does not have a compatible cleaning station. I'll wait for a newer Philips highend razor before I upgrade my existing Philips razor.

compared this to the 6000 my dad had could not see much differwnce in shave as both was missing same hairs near chin and neck line also got razor bump with 9000 changed to Braun series 7 have had no problem

You mentioned some "review update some time of usage" - two years seem now to have gone or have I overlooked your update?

still going strong and the replacements are getting expensive so setup alert on camelcamelcamel for price drop to grab a few. This one does not have cleaning station that fits it so that is something I miss. The new Philips Norelco 9800 is my current go to and is a really close shave and has new cleaning system that works well.

Do you have to pop off the Prestige shaver head and place it on the series 9000 body in order to use the cleaning station?

Hi. Interesting review and comparison. Thank you. As you demonstrated during your video that the triple blade head holders for each model are interchangeable and work on each unit. Can you please advise if the S9000 Prestige Model fits the cleaning station belonging to your 9000 model?Looks to me from its similar size and shape and the fact that their blade heads fit each other’s bodies that there is a strong possibility that the S9000 Prestige is compatible with the cleaning station shown. Thanks in advance.

Yes it will fit into the station but the top will not connect to the prestige. I just swap out the shaver heads and clean them with the station.

Maybe the model that does not support wireless charging support using with cleaning station but i haven't seen anybody tried that though.

I have BOTH of these, and prefer the older, lighter model. Shaving performance is the same, but weight and cost of the S9000 Pro are both higher.

@@pee430 The S9000 Pro is simply too heavy. And the cutters on both are models are functionally identical.

Thanks for the comparison vid. If on the series 9000 if I just get the replacement blades of the 9000 prestige will it give me the same performance in shaving? because the shaving heads in the video seems to fit just perfectly on the either of the models so is there a need to buy the new prestige or if I own the series 9000 just buy the prestige shaving heads & attach it to the series 9000? After using the prestige blades on my 9000 series, I have to say that there is no noticeable difference if the blades are on the prestige or the 9000 series shaver. So yes just get the replacement blades if your 9000 series is running strong. I also like that the 9000 series shaver has the cleaning station.

I have the 9311 and asked philips if I can buy only the prestige head and use with the 9311 handle but they told me No this may cause damage to the handle so I bought the prestige model but that was a lie from philips just to increase their sales. Don't make my mistake and buy only the replacement head

@@filipemachado5419I have braun 5090cc and I can tell that the philips gives waaaay closer shave than a foil shaver but personally the foil is more comfortable (at least to me) but I prefer to sacrifice some comfort to get more closeness that lasts longer with norelco shaver. (If you want more comfortable shave, try using it wet or wet your face and the shaver with water and it will glide more easily on your face)

I put the Prestige Blades on my Sense 3D (8000) Norleco shaver which uses the 9000 heads. I found with using the Prestige heads that I dont have to use as many passes on my faces as i do with the 9000 shaving head. I like the new Presidge shaver look and features so much that I am giving my old Norelco to my son as I buy the new Prestige. It does cut closer than my old noisy buzzy Braun. Norelco is so much quieter. It seems based on motor sounds that the Prestige runs faster on the high ending compared to the 9000.

@James Burns I am just like you, when it comes to money, I am conservative. I only bought the new Prestige shaver head because my old 9000s HEAD is old. And I don't need Prestige shaver that comes with wireless charger. But, people might buy the Prestige shaver because they like new materials or some people don't know the value of money.

You'll get a closer shave with the norelco shaver but may get some irritations at the beginning of using it but by time you'll get used to it.

Wrong, different blades! The prestige uses the nanotechnology blades. In theory we could just buy sh98 and fit on to the older 9000 and you actually be fine by the looks of it.

The so-called “nanotechnology”‘ by which you are so enthralled is nothing more than a pseudo-Teflon-coated blade, which by any account, does not make it sharper. Why don’t you try an experiment of your own before blithely subscribing to the marketing hype? Phillips sells gimmicks like this to mouth-breathers worldwide, as there is an endless supply of them. The greatest drug ever created is the placebo.

Absolutely useless expensive rubbish. Cannot shave close. Looks good but I just bought a Remington at less than half the price. The truth is that nothing shaves as well as the good old fashioned gillette or wilkinson blade.
