That will also be a big help for the improvement of the quality of constructions here in the Philippines! ☺️

FYI many Filipino Professional Engineers are being hired abroad, so don't belittle the civil engineers of the Philippines. Constructioning by hand and technically structuring and designing it has a huge difference. The geography has a huge impact in design and construction so don't compare.

She wasn't belittling anyone. She was merely pointing out the skull sets. And has far as the quality. I've seen first hand in many cases. As well as bad engineering and lack of caring for their jobs! It's the same way in any country. I've seen it worse in the USA then here. It's why I take pride in what I do and wanted to Incorporate techniques here

@@TheRichardArmstrong yes she does. She generalized it by saying "proper construction to Filipino" by saying 'Filipino' she already did call on every Filipino builders and Engineers. There's no "some" on her words. Yes, I agree with you, there are Filipino builders constructing houses without proper guidance from professional they would just build from just "knowing how" this is espcially true in the provincial area. There are also greedy developers who do hire professional engineers but would use low quality materials to get more profit. And I despised them. But, there are many skilled workers and professional engineers who follows the strict guidelines of ISO and thus creating quality buildings and houses in the Philippines.

I think your house is a combination of something Filipino, especially outside that invites to an outdoor life, inside some elements from Southern Europe added Scandinavian minimalist style. The open space where everyone can be in contact with each other despite different activities is very contemporary Danish. The immersion of the living room is a plus. However, I would probably have put the TV 20-30 centimeters higher. Maybe even a ½ meter. The two buttons on the toilet cistern are that one is for bimmelim and the other for bummelum (pee and the heavy substance). You don't need to use a lot of water for bimmelim. Your bed fits nicely into the design of the rest of the house. However, due to my somewhat older age than yours, I would probably have left the bed higher so that you can crawl into the bed instead of down into it. I enjoy that my bed is higher, but you can change that when you get older. (Smiles). One thing that has surprised me in the Philippines is the echo indoors due to the bare walls. The echo in your bedroom is considerably muffled due to the high curtains. I personally think that is a good thing; especially when going to sleep. All in all, one of the most inspiring houses I have seen in the Philippines.

issues I have with a lot of the new homes built in the philippines that are showcased from realtors like Presello is they are nice but not practical. The lot size is limited but they add unncessary faux designs that take up precious space that makes the overall space smaller. Even simple homes, the architect feels the need to add double or triple tray ceilings , which is an extravagant feature but doesnt match the rest of house design making the design langauge not flow. The result of armstrong's house is that he was probably more involved in the design bringing in more westernized influences and toning down the usual overkill if he let the philippines design and architect do it al.

I totally agree with this. Alot of added costs in those designs for just a little eye candy. The overall payoff isn't and wasn't worth it to us. We definitely didn't want the ceilings. They end up closing off the space and collect dust! We both agreed to keep exterior of house minimal and functional with low maintenance. We built to save money down the road not add cost of maintenance.

A very detailed step by step and well-thought out plan and execution. I love the warm lights on the living area, u get that cozy feeling. the aesthetic feel from the industrial lights and also the accent color of it that it contrasts from the white color of the wall. Also i love the french door, u have ample natural light. Over all, great design. as a filipino architect, i would say, simple but beautiful. the UV efficiency of the glass has very important role especially during summer. the huge porch gives grandeur of the house in a simple but functional approached, the minimalist form with the light painted walls and contrasting color of the outer ceiling gives simple but elegant in overall. Mmm.. interior not bad, i will leave it to the occupant's comfortability. thumbs up! awesome! btw, i'm also a lighting enthusiast and its great to see its lighting approach.

I commend you Sir for being so knowledgeable about your newly built house. I certainly love how exquisite, durable and comfortable the construction of your house is. Literally every details of it has its own distinct purpose. You did great about that and I also love how detailed you are upon explaining everything, seems like you're the engineer of your own haven. God Bless to your new house and to the one's who will occupy it.

Very beautiful, elegant, functional / practical sturdy L-shaped house plan. Simple yet roomy & classy. I love that it's well ventilated, the polished concrete glossy floor in the interior & stamped flooring on the porch area. Donna's design dish racks is a must have and the sunken living room and the basin-less wash area in the bathroom. The strong metal porch roofing and the mirrored glass windows. I can't wait to see the art pieces you will display at the living room's wall. You guys have good taste. I would build a similar design but with 3 or 4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 bath because I have a big family. For family of 3, yours is perfect especially with 2 baths or 1 1/2 bath. But I would give this home an A+ or 10/10. Congrats on your beautiful house & beautiful family. Thank you for sharing ❤✌

The house is so nice, love the uniqueness of it. One thing I would add is a padded headboard for the Master bedroom to have that "grand" feel and it also adds as accent as well.

Very organize, spacious, minimalist, neat and airy… thank you for the idea about the window glass☺️ this is also what I’m planning to our future house its so open when you’re inside but with the privacy outside. I'm watching this because my Bisaya girlfriend and I are contemplating settling down in her province. One of our main concerns is safety, especially if the place is located far from the city. We want to ensure that the area we choose offers a secure environment and has reliable safety measures in place. Additionally, being close to a highway is also important to us as it provides convenient access to transportation and facilitates easy travel to and from the city.

I'm speechless. I love the simplicity of the design, both the interior and the exterior. It's unique and functional, and it's lovely! Your house reminds me of the 50' to 70's architecture like the southern California west side beach homes :-) Especially with the sunken LR. It's not bad at all. Your idea of concrete surfaces is consistent and gives it a minimalist/industrial feel. Another surprise is your unique bathroom countertop. I love the modern feel to it. Your property is very well thought of from the outside to the inside. Great design! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Donna and Richard..So cool watching it being built from the ground up. The floors look beautiful and I love how the house looks at night with the glow from the lights. I really agree with having a cooking area outside especially when frying food. The house just feels so open and inviting You and Donna worked really hard. The house itself and the way it is decorated is just beautiful. I also appreciate you being eco friendly. I am so happy for you and look forward to continue watching you...you are so funny to follow. Many continued blessings for you all..take care❤

All I can say is OMG! I ❤ the outcome of your house project. Yes, its very minimalistic and very soothing in the eyes. I can't see any clutter and you really thought of everything in advance. I love the counter table, breakfast nook cum counter top. It's a fresh idea of incorporating everything in one. I think both of you now can have an extra income of being house consultants. Your ideas put in together really brought out the best. Richard, I think you can now start your design company hahahah...loveeee your house. Wish I could go and see it in for real and visit you guys. Have a happy life 😊. Can't wait to see Richard's son to join you in your next vlog.
