How Philip IV of Spain looked in Real Life. Felipe IV (or Philip IV) of Spain was Charles II's father. He married his niece Mariana of Austria to produce Spain's last Habsburg King- the inbred Charles II of Spain. Philip IV tried his whole life to get a male heir but none survived beyond him, except the youngest boy Charles II. However Charles II of Spain was so inbred, his health issues made him infertile and the Spanish Habsburgs in Spain ended. The War of the Spanish Succession arose afterwards, but that is another story.

Catherine of Aragon (1st wife) and Catherine Parr (6th wife) descend from John of Gaunt, along with Henry VIII himself. Jane Seymour (3rd wife) descends from John of Gaunt’s brother Lionel of Antwerp. Henry and Jane both descend from his daughter Philippa. All of his wives descend from Edward I.
