After 2008 retirement of Mighty Australian, This South Africa was close to invincible. For 8 years they never lost a away test series . What an underrated achievement !!!

Yeah.Dale steyn taught me that you don't need to hit fours and sixes to entertain fans, you just need a good bowling action.

South Africa toured Nz, Eng and Aus in 2012 and won series in each of those countries (without losing a single test match in any series)

Tarini Acharya Best seam bowler of this generation and it’s not close. His the fast bowling version of R Ashwin. Give Ashwin a dry turner and he is probably the best spinner in the world. Give Philander a green deck and he is as good and James Anderson

This is the era that ICC really needed to get the World Test League going. There were multiple strong teams. This England side, Australia, SA, SL were strong at least at home, India. What a pleasure it would have been to watch.

There was a time when I was a huge fan of this SA squad. Lovely memories.

Vernon Philander is a great fast bowler. With a perfect repeating action, he had the ability to swing the ball out and cut in in and together with impeccable line and lenght, he was a very difficult proposition for the batsmen, particularly on the seaming wickets of South Africa

Special thing about that team is that sa won away from home except india and they nearly won in india in 2010 sa lost kolkata test match on late day 5 and they drew test series and in a era where teams dont win away from home in test cricket

This was the series that made me fall in love with cricket 🇿🇦🏏❤️

This was one serious South African team.. brilliant players top to bottom Loved every bit of this test match Time well spent

Philander on a pitch that swings or seams is right there with Anderson , Broad, Steyn, McGrath for the best of the last 20 years. Maybe not record wise, but Philander rose to the occasion time and time again in his career.

Dale stane one of the finest boller in cricket history। He has everything , swing , rever swing, speed Yorker ,bowncer , and an amazing talent to bowled the bastman ।

How good was Finn at this point? England should have just accepted that he was never going to be tight but he'd always get wickets, ruined him.

He troubled the best of players when in proper rhythm, took the pitch and the conditions totally out of the equation... And he used to bowl above 90mph on a consistent basis without striving too hard... A natural fast bowler, great athlete...

12:34 - 12:40 if i remember correctly he's pretty much the second england keeper to do this. Alec stewart did it a few years back. Loved it
