This is not an easy riff to play clean. Not just because it’s tremolo styled picking but the variations of open and palm muted picking changing from string to string. BUT, it’s a lot of fun once you get it. To relearn getting this tight after so many years (we’ve never played this live but would LOVE to btw) I noticed the amount of pressure or force in my right hand changes throughout small sections a lot so it’s definitely a riff I gotta pay a lot of attention to throughout until my muscle memory builds up more for it. Thank god it stands on it’s own without harmonies until the very last tail end. I consider this a “battle riff”, which there are definitely several of those throughout our albums. Not sure what I like better though, “battle riffs” or “car chase riffs” 😂

One of my favorite song, so underrated
This one is my ultimate favorite on the Powerless Rise. The outro to this heavy tune makes me shiver every time!

All transcriptions of this riff I have found, have this riff in C#. I get why, but the tail end of this riff explains why it's in fact in C.

Also the power chords in the intro go from 5, 0, 1, then 3. The open is blended in there. He only hits it once before going to the 1.
