I used to have this on cassette. In fact, I used to own all his Sparrow Records releases on cassette. Don't know what happened to them. This record was my favorite of all of them. Christian music with a message of hope. Timeless. I appreciate worship music as well, but the worship music that one hears now is so "wordly", musically speaking. A small percentage is acceptable. This record by Phil Keaggy is beautifully written and recorded. His musicianship and lyrics speaks volumes of his love for God and his family. I was blessed to see him twice in the early 80's. He is an underrated but much beloved musician that needs to be recognized as a legend. I have recently been able to find some of his early records on vinyl out in the wild that are in great condition. I'm still hunting for more.

I was on the road full time with our group in the early 80's. Along with our drummer, I helped drive our tour bus. I can't tell you the miles that I drove while listening to this album in my Rockman. Great songs, great arrangements, great playing; just the Best!

I used to listen to Glass Harp back in the early 70's loved them. Then I moved on...I'm glad I've rediscovered Mr. Keaggy. What a fine recording...and for 1981..I can't say that there is very much "timeless" music from that period...This is timeless.

Because secularists loathe this inspired music from our Lord and Saviour! It's a natural repellent to them. What's hilarious, is the rabid looney Godless left talk about being all inclusive, but they really just should go ahead and add the caveat, "Except Christians"! God Bless everyone!🙏❤️❤️

THE EMANCIPATION: Speaking of sharing good news; on January 1, 1863, Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation freeing the slaves. Booker T. Washington, as a slave boy of nine years, remembered the day of his deliverance, as follows : As the great day grew nearer, there was more singing in the slave quarters than usual. It was bolder, had more ring, and lasted later into the night. Most of the verses of the plantation songs had some reference to freedom… Some man who seemed to be a stranger (a United States officer, I presume) made a little speech and then read a rather long paper - the Emancipation Proclamation, I think. After the reading we were told that we were all free, and could go when and where we pleased. My mother, who was standing by my side, leaned over and kissed her children, while tears of joy ran down her cheeks. She explained to us what it all meant, that this was the day for which she had been so long praying, but fearing that she would never live to see. But in an attempt to keep their slaves working the plantations, some of the slaveholders deliberately chose not to inform the poor souls of their freedom. Many slaves were kept uninformed of the Proclamation for many months; some until after the end of the Civil War. Others though told they were legally free, found it difficult to believe and remained in subjection to their slave-masters until finally convinced by the accumulation of time and evidence. Yet it’s even a greater travesty of justice to think that for the last 2,000 years unnumbered billions have lived and died never having heard the good news of their emancipation from the slavery of sin and death. Regrettably billions more living today have been taught that their spiritual salvation is conditional and proportional, i.e., based on their own works and God’s whim. HALF-FREE IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH But it’s not good enough that slaves be declared only half-free on condition that they work out the other half. And it’s not good enough that only some slaves be set free while others remain in bondage. Nothing less than all slaves must be declared “completely free” with full rights of citizenship (even kinship) in God’s kingdom. Is this not what Christ was sent to accomplish? He said concerning his assignment, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners…to release the oppressed …” (Lk 4:18). Having finished his liberation of spiritually enslaved humanity, the Son ascended back to his heavenly Father, and declared, “Mission accomplished!” Therefore, because of Christ’s success, humanity’s standing before God has long since been changed from slaves to scions. ( descendants of a notable family) But who will tell it to the untold? Many of them are still waiting to hear the news of the Deity’s Emancipation Proclamation; to hear what they have never heard; to hear what they could hardly permit themselves to hope for; and to hear the “good news” that the suffering, death, and resurrection of Christ has assured the spiritual freedom of every last one of them. If true, the announcement of the ultimate salvation and liberation of all humanity would be the happiest and most welcome news ever proclaimed on earth. Who, then, in good conscience would be so insensitive as to insist that spiritual emancipation from the cruelest slave master of all time is intended only for a favored few?

It does not necessarily mean that - and I’m 99.9% sure Phil didn’t mean it that way at all. Most of the time it means that you have returned to a previously held belief or position that you had once known, but had departed from or abandoned. For example: you went through things that brought you back to the truth you originally knew. Typically implies you learned the hard way. Also, a full circle would be 360°, not 180°, lol! 😬

Locked Up, But for what? ( Romans! 11:32 ) Romans! 11:32-36 is great! But, Remember that this is also in the same book that had 10:9-10 in it where you have to confess! This is how I answered someone on KZread this morning.: That is a previous message that Paul gave that was still consistent, up to that time, with what Peter, James, and John were saying was “required” by God. But look at his later writings. Paul seems to have had a further revelation from God where he was caught up to the third heaven. Paul’s later epistles speak of Grace alone as the necessary element of Salvation. I illustrate it like this: Now if God were wanting to send us a grace gift, would he want us to peak at the gift beforehand and help him wrap the present, then hop back down as if we had not peaked, nor helped, and waited for Him to surprise us? No way in hell that you had not spoiled the whole darned process! Same with the Galatians who were in his later epistles. “Oh foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Having begun in the spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?” See Galatians 3. They were guilty of mixing some deeds of “righteousness” in with Grace. (God giving us Salvation by use of his Spirit) … “For by use of the Spirit [of God] were we ALL baptized into one body…”(1 Cor. 12:13 ) The NIV tells it thus: “For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body--whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.” Only by God’s doing are we saved! It is all a grace gift. Some versions call it an approach present. In other verses we are told that God chose us in Him (Christ) before the world began, to be adopted as Sons, chosen to be conformed to His image (like his character) as Holy and blameless before Him in Love. See Ephesians 4:4-6. Then we are also told in scriptures that “God is no respecter of persons.” He does not really hate Esau literally ( hates the pride of Pharisee ism..) and Jacob have I loved.” God loves the person who believes that He needs God in all of life. Jacob who used to be a grabber, or clutched, or thief, wrestled with God ( an angel.) all night. The angel changed his name to “Blessed of God” Israel! Same idea here.. Grace is an approach present 🎁 from God and he sure loves those who know they didn’t help gift wrap it. And we have Gen 12:3 where God said to Abraham ( his name was also changed) “In you shall ALL the families of the earth be blessed.” A wonderful promise from Him who knows the end from the beginning. And not limited to any family, so we can in theory ask Is Hitler’s family going to be blessed? Stalin’s family? Etc. That is why David could say “ESV: All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you.” ALL does not mean all mankind that ever lived, most preachers would say. So Ephesians 1:9-11 are needed to back that up.. Colossians 1:20 is needed. Verses like “All souls are mine.” (Ezekiel 18:4) and Isaiah 53:1 are needed. All iniquities… and verses like Romans 5:18-19 and 1 Cor 15:22 & 28, and Rev 5:13. Just listen to the Philippians 2:7-11 passage that says in the Amplified Bible Version: “who, although He existed in the form and unchanging essence of God [as One with Him, possessing the fullness of all the divine attributes-the entire nature of deity], did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped or asserted [as if He did not already possess it, or was afraid of losing it]; but emptied Himself [without renouncing or diminishing His deity, but only temporarily giving up the outward expression of divine equality and His rightful dignity] by assuming the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men [He became completely human but was without sin…]. After He was found in [terms of His] outward appearance as a man [for a divinely-appointed time], He humbled Himself [still further] by becoming obedient [to the Father] to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also [because He obeyed and so completely humbled Himself], God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW [in submission], of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord (sovereign God), to the glory of God the Father.” So glorious a truth that someday (see Rev 5:12-13) “every creature will be shouting glory and blessing and honor unto Him who sits upon the throne and to the Lamb.” 1 Cor 12:3 declares that this is by the spirit of God that the name of Yeshua is acclaimed. All are equal before God. There are no favorites. He is no respecter of persons. “God was in Christ (notice it doesn’t say God was Christ!) reconciling the world to Himself, not counting men's sins against them.” The whole of Creation will be brought to what it should be! Fixed! Related! Reconciled! Molded in the hands of the potter who first “locked us up in disobedience so that he could have mercy upon all.” (Romans 11:32.) - brother Paul
