I always thought that this song was one of Phil's most powerful ones. Maybe because of the whole atmosphere it sets, because it sound pretty different than many of his other songs, I feel. Regardless, fantastic song, and great pictures! =)

Thanks for this video. It fit with the spirituality of this song. This song was my second favorite song of Phil Collins (the first was ''Another Day in Paradise''). This song was so spiritual, so sad, so calm and a incredible hauting ballad. Also, with the rage and moody voice of this song, this song was masterpiece and also my favorite song of the album. The whole ''Both Sides'' was explore a more experimental sound and was not so commercial. This album ear a watchful listen when you listen this album before you entered in this album. I entered in this album after two listen and now, this album was one of my second favorite album of his career (the first was ''...But Seriously''). I like in this album nine of the eleven tracks of this album, particulary this song or also ''Can't Turn Back the years''.

When i first discovered this album after hearing one cut from Both Sides of the Story, I immediately ran out and bought the CD. It got me thru alot of disappointing times. Because i was not a fan of ''Dance Into the Light'' and i didn't like at all ''Testify''. And during of period of success, i was not fan of ''No Jacket Required'', a deception and not one of her strongest album of his career. ''...But Seriously'', ''Face Value'' and ''Both Sides'' was very better to ''No Jacket Required''.

+leendert M. van H. Those are probably the two lines of this song that stick with me the most. I actually think Phil Collins must pretty screwed up emotionally; I notice a lot of his lyrics seem to reflect the 5 stages of grief (In The Air Tonight is clearly anger, and this song appears to be bargaining and depression), absolute idealisation or devaluation, or a repeating pattern of chaotic relationships (ever noticed how Invisible Touch and Easy Lover are basically the same song lyrically?). Lines like "harbor lights are fading fast" even suggest a sense of lacking a stable view of the world or feeling incomplete when alone.
