It might be to go with the theme. Tbh I'm at the age now when I'm insulted if you expect me to pay $300 - $1000 a seat and then show up in a tshirt and cargo pants. Good performance though.

@@cvbabc Phil Collins is a true artist that doesn't need the flash. He sang those songs in their entirety. Y'all want the new artists with all the flash and pomp but they use don't sing they play the recording and lipsync to it.
Phil Collins looks like the dad who got lost at the concert and ended up on stage somehow.... ... And did a great job.
I'm 55 years young and 1985 was a good year, especially for music! Phil Collins defined the 80's sound.

Huhmmm, I know you posted this comment 3 years ago, but I have to ask how this song is romantic? Billie isn't a girl he is singing about. In fact, this song was an improv song. He said he knew the song was about this guy who did something wrong and was now on the run and he was being the friend who believed him and that what happened wasn't his fault. He has not heard nor seen Billie at all and is hoping one day he will get a call from him to let him know he is okay and maybe find a way to help him out. So, not sure how romantic that song really is.

One of the greatest drummers ever in his prog rock days, created some of the best albums ever with Genesis in the 70s then threw out countless hits with them in the 80s while becoming huge as a solo artist himself. Oh and he could sing and perform live brilliantly too, one of the greats

Every time I look at this concert I think, he’s so attractive 😍 something about - a strong man in a plain t shirt, trousers, humble feet firmly on the ground, head in the stars, quite intoxicating.. had to be said, sorry😑
This song is so damn catchy and Phil definitely sounds great singing live as much as in the studio. And as a trumpet player myself, I love the 2 trumpets involved and that was such a cool electric guitar solo. Way to go everyone on stage!! 🎺🎺🎸
