Ma'am.....What kind of work experience is needed for part time phd in iit delhi??

Hi ma'am. I am Abhigyan. I had qualified GATE Civil Engineering in 2020 and GATE Geomatics Engineering in 2023. I have recently submitted my application for a full-time PhD program at IIT Delhi. This year, IIT Delhi explicitly mentioned that a valid GATE score is required, and given that my GATE Civil Engineering score became invalid in March 2023, I have provided my GATE Geomatics Engineering scorecard. I would like to inquire about IIT Delhi's selection process for PhD candidates. Specifically, I am curious to know if there is a written examination for shortlisting applicants for interviews?? Additionally, if there is a written exam, should I focus on revising in-depth formulas and concepts from Civil Engineering, or would it be more beneficial to concentrate on the fundamentals?

Hello Abhigyan, it is not mandatory that they will take a test . This usually depends on the number and kinds of applications they have got for that area. So there is no norm of compulsory testing for every department. Rest I suggest you can check the website of the area / department where u have applied.

As per ugc norms you can pursue a PhD in the same subject as ur PG. So the choice of PhD subject relates to your PG not ur UGC NET

Ma'am I could not fill the form because the result of the UGC NET exam came late. and this year I have qualified JRF In environmental science. Can I apply now by direct contact with the professor? Please advise me...

Congratulations on qualifying JRF. However it doesn't usually work this way. You have to fill the form when the window is open . Remember there are so many students who have qualified net & JrF of all start applying now what will happen. Still if you do want to give it a try u can always write to the research head and ask.

You can refer to the guidelines once for the management department. They sometimes exempt outstanding students or students from CFTI from the need for having an Eligibility exam.

If applications are less then direct interviews . If many then test + interview. Check the humanities department website.

There is no set pattern shared by IIT Delhi. Also varies with your area / department. Most tests focus on your subject theory and research, statistics knowledge
