Phayao Northern Thailand Surprising lakeside city.
I drove two and a half hours East of Chiang Mai, through picturesque mountains and valleys, to the lakeside city of Phayao. It was my first visit to Phayao and I really enjoyed it. The scenery was impressive and the people were so friendly. If you are in Northern Thailand you must visit Phayao.

Very nice Paul….rainy season can make it a bit challenging to get around though!

yes true Maui. On the 2nd day hornets attacked my car and I got pounded by wind and rain...then the sun came out.

Thanks Paul. Yes the temple looked so real, I was surprised it was a replica. Probably a tourist thing that failed.
