painful to watch how Pharrell just praises and gives compliments and doesn't start a conversation on eye level. Marc tries to intervene this stream of blind praise several times, but Pharrell keeps coming back to that. Real conversation happens when both parties put themselves on the same height.

Man this is an interesting take. i think I get it for sure & agree to an extent. Pharrell spent so much time giving Marc his praise he never allowed the conversation to develop so that we can get the highest level of conversation and definitely direction. Pharrell is so humble its really one of his superpowers but I think there's a certain level of imposter syndrome being exhibited since becoming CD of LV, and all Marc was trying to say was "Hey you worked your way and positioned yourself, that's why I chose to collaborate with you and that's why since then you've continued to elevate."

​@@FlyYoungIntellectualMedia let me elaborate on this. being humble is indeed a superpower, but it loses it's splendor when it's being repetitive, and to a certain, very fine degree, it even disrespects the value of what the other person is trying to state and make you realise. Marc is a clean professional in public communication but you could almost consider moments where he is stopping Pharrell to say 'wait a minute, this didn't just all happen by coincidence...' as a loss of patience. On a level that Marc would be trying to communicate (you could check other interviews of his) this is a flat conversation.

Legendary conversation! These two shifted culture forever and bridged a gap that had a major impact. P along with Nigo, Ye, Murakami etc all paved the way for Virgil to take the torch and thrive the way he did. To see it all come back around full circle with the two that initially sparked the shift is dope to see. Hate it or love it, history is history. Shoutout to Marc for opening the doors like he did.

Marc with LV is what got me into fashion

This is one of the most wholesome conversations I’ve seen where two great creatives pay homage to each other in such a very gracious way. Humility & self deprecation by the finest. I’ll be honest, this video made any doubts I or I’m sure others who were not sure “why Pharrell,” disappear. Incredible full circles reminding me at least, it’s about relationships and asking for what we want to those who have openness …

Only five minutes in and I regret to not have gathered a notepad for insightful quotes from Marc. Anticipating filling a page from both of my favorite visionaries/artists.

I have listened to Pharrell talking and find him to be articulate and a clever young man. He is actually the opposite to the previous comment. He encourages the people around him, he is honest and hard working. Who isn't nervous meeting somebody who you look up to. How do you think you would cope with all of Pharrell's success, fame and record greats.

In response to 2:15, It had happened before... rappers started ghost designing. French people had to open that door and let music artists in so that they could participate in design too. THat had to happen before rap artists could be creative directors.

This had clear potential, but it fell short of being an engaging interview. Rather than a dynamic exchange of ideas, it feels more like one person, Pharrell, dominating the conversation while Marc Jacobs politely and graciously listens/tolerates. There's a distinct lack of back-and-forth dialogue that would have made it more captivating. A missed opportunity for a truly engaging conversation. Definitely wanted to hear a LOT more from Marc Jacobs.

I remember when MJ was at LV and Murakami bags were all the rage. The whimsical nature of MJ's creative direction and Murakami's illustration genius really opened up the brand and set the stage for LV's subsequent collabs.

"Something happened in fashion" Ofcourse he is talking the copycat era. When good stealing is better than originality. Wallets and feelings gets hurt. People kept to themselves, so paying it forward was in the backburner. Marc Jacobs is an phenomenal person to embrace another person and recognize talent, to make the other person shine. Miraculeusly make you shine in return. Cos it allows you complement your presence without words. I call it in Dutch ; gunfactor or favourable factor. Thats high level thinking !!!
