This should be the worldwide Asthma Anthem, i relate to everything Pharaohe says on this song. Having suffered as an asthma kid through out my childhood till almost 15. This song is powerfull when i remember all i went though , trips to the hospital at midnight on mommas back (from a 3rd world where healthcare is a challenge), hospitalised for days. Now am standing a grownup adult and Asthma is behind me. Still when i hear this song, it makes me appreciate my moms everyday.

Pharoahe gave a ton of great info on emceeing in the books he took part in making, called *HOW TO RAP* + *HOW TO RAP 2*. One of the things he said in them was this- "With certain songs, it’s better if you punch in, depending on how you write the record. It could be a song where you literally scream the first line and then cry the second line and whisper the third line, and so on and so forth, and just to get the proper inflection on those pieces, you might want to retake some things - just like a film, like, “Cut! Let’s do this crying part all over again.”"

At a lost for words is more words than can be given the relief from the world for the five plus minutes of this song. A complete escape from the trivial, mundane trappings of the mind erser known as radio. Thank you, I can still say that I love hip hop after this blessing!

Myself bipolar1 coming across Monch, helps me get thru the day. And Locksmith too...the best hiphip is out there yet ppl still falling for ''hiphock'' I think Rev Valentine called it and that's all that mainstream is...so much respect bc whether mental illness or physical drug induced illness I've been there so hearing it come out knowing I'm not alone, I'm still standing at the end of another day.
