US compounding is so different from germany. We don't use ointment papers and spatulas we use mortars and pestles made out of a special kind of plastic

I apologize guys, there are few errors I need to clarify: LAST PRESCRIPTION 1) We need 0.9gm of hydrocortisone in the whole prescription to get 1% of it. Our only source of hydrocortisone is 1%. If you solve for 0.9gm, you will need 90gm of that available source. This will not be ideal since the whole script needs to be 90gm total and you have other ingredients to add. This will cause it to go over 90gm. Therefore, we need a more concentrated amount of the available hydrocortisone source. Assume we had 100% concentrated hydrocortisone powder. You can then weigh out 0.9gm and add it to the prescription to get 1%. - Credit to Legrand Salame 2) The amount of lubriderm lotion needed is supposed to be 90gm minus 11.4gm which is 78.6gm NOT 11.4gm. - Credit to Keishla C. OTHER Also, at 27:46 its suppose to be absorption base NOT adsorption base. Thanks. Please let me know of if you have any questions. I hope I didn’t confuse anyone. Promise to review videos more thoroughly before upload, especially calculation videos. Thanks.

Hello all, anyone can help me verify how to do this calculation? I have a 0.025% capsaicin cream and I want to dilute it to 0.006% capsaicin using cerave healing ointment (per container it is 46.5% petrolatum). Am I incorrect thinking that this would be a simple 1:4 dilution or aka mix 1 gram 0.025% capsaicin cream to 3 grams cerave? Any additional guidance much appreciated.

For the last prescription, how did you reach the amount of 0.9 g of 1% hydrocortisone cream?! Should’nt it be 90 grams? If im correct, it will be impossible to prepare the prescription with the available hydrocortisone cream or ointment. Thanks!

The percent of hydrocortisone cream in the script is 1%. 1% is the same as 1gm in 100. But we dont have 100, we have 90gm. If you solve for that you get 0.9gm. Or you can do 1% of 90gm total and that is also 0.9gm. Please let me know if this is still not clear, thanks.

Yea i get what you’re saying. My only issue is that with the available given resources, i am not being able to reach a final preparation with the needed weight of 3 oz (90 grams)! If i need my final preparation to be 1% hydrocortisone, so 90 grams of my final preparation needs to contain 0.9 grams of hydrocortisone. My resources are creams/ointments with 1% strength ... meaning that i will have to use 90grams of the resource cream to be able to reach 0.9 grams of hydrocortisone ... by then i would have already reached the weight of 90 grams and i would still have other missing ingredients to add. Dont you think we need a higher concentration of hydrocortisone cream/ointment in the resources? I hope this makes sense.

@@legrandsalame8558 Yes correct in that case you will need higher concentration of the available hydrocortisone. Thanks for pointing that out.
