I attended two Roadside Attractions in Markham ON (93 and 95?). Those were the days my friends. One of them had Daniel Lanois and Midnight Oil on the same evening - wow what a treat. Daniel Lanois is a true unsung Canadian gem.

This was a great conversation! Thank you for sharing, guys. It's wonderful to hear just how collaborative the entire process was, and continues to be through things like these boxsets. Phantom Power is my favourite album, but only by a hair - a lot of them are so close to the top of the list (World Container sometimes wins for a spell haha).

Great interview. Would have been great if each of the guys would have given their thoughts on what was Mr. Downie's favourite song off PP. But I can get behind anything.... To Mr. Fay, Mr. Sinclair, Mr. Langlois, Mr. Baker and Mr. Downie, Thank you. From: a fan.

I’m not sure if anyone from the band will ever read this, but here’s a question, anyhow…did any of you ever make it to Chagrin Falls, Ohio? Thank you for a lot of great music!

"if you can explain the song in 20 words or less, there's no point in writing the song" That quote's not a song, because it's only 17 words.

Yeah just about everything since Phantom Power kinda sucks. A few bright patches but generally not very good. But their first 6 LPs are top drawer.

@@torchmark66 Not too many would suggest that their first 6 LPs are not their best 6. I don't know how one could even pick one of their other LPs and suggest it deserves to be in the same league. In Violet Light and My Music at Work are probably #7 and #8, but man does it really start to get pretty bad after that. I'd be curious what LP you think belongs in the top 6 if not their first 6?

  • @djknox2

In fact, the marked decline of their last 5 LPs vs their first 5 LPs is extraordinary. I wish someone would ask them about that? 5-3-5. 5 great, 5 mediorcre and 5 rather poor.

@@djknox2 I'm not surprised that you use the word 'fact' when you are just stating an opinion. A pretty debatable one at that. Go troll someplace else.
