@@rickym242 I’m not in theater, I’m just obsessed with musicals. My schools (middle and elementary) never offered any theater programs so I never had a chance to be in theater. I was gonna take it in high school. I’m in 9th grade now but because of COVID I’m doing online and still can’t do theater. I hope to be able to before I’m out of high school though.

The tour isn’t actually bad. It’s not the brilliant original, but it’s actually really fun

This meg has A LOT of personality and I love it! Also props to the Christine actress for handling that skirt issue flawlessly

I got nervous of how "Christine" professionally cope up with her dress but then I got shookt when I saw meg changing clothes. But still I wish I can cope up misfits on stage too huehue

She coped very well though.

I think I'd just take it off when they are back stage and congratulating her and hold it or put it down. Her dress was OK underneath with the tassels.

Eva is amazing. I had the pleasure of seeing her last week. She’s PHANomenal.

I think I would have just taken it off once they got to the "dressing room" lol because she's not naked/underwear underneath. It's mortifying when a mishap happens during a performance, you have no choice but to cope with it. I played Gertrude in Seussical once and my big tail snapped off towards the end of "Amazing Gertrude", I had to snatch it from the floor and hold it behind my back as I sang the last note :D

During Oklahoma we took off the outer layer of dress for many a new day so we could dance in our corsets and stuff like this but my dress wouldn’t come off so I had to run backstage

What an absolute pro! The way she handled that was just brilliant!

I got to see them last week! they were wonderful! No wardrobe accidents then. :) she did wonderfully here.

Oh God this brings back memories 😭 when my troupe did hunchback, we accidentally sent Esmeralda out with the side of her corset unzipped, just out of her reach, so she performed 3 scenes with it flapping in the cathedral breeze

I'm dancing, and I had a similar moment. On stage. At THE competition (we usually go to one competition a year). It was a hat. I never dropped it before, but then somehow I did. I knew what should I do ( continue dancing and don't pick it up) and I did nothing wrong, but as soon as we went off the stage, I just started to cry. So it is true that in theese moments you act calm, but on the inside you are screaming. (My theacher and teammates calmed me down, and they were really nice )😂

Omg if this was the show at Vancouver 3 years ago then I was there! I saw the actresses dress get undone and it was really impressive with how she handled it so props to her!

She pulled it off very well tho

My production had the same malfunction except it happened during Think of Me😂

This was her second show ever!

I’ve had something like this happen to me before in a show. I was on stage for 10 minutes straight, gripping my skirt up. My mic was going haywire and crackling because the skirt had initially been helping to hold it in place - it was doing well before the button holding it together popped and I had to grip the skirt for dear freaking life

Meg's voice is beautiful! 🤩

She was amazing! I went to see her and Derek in Memphis! I loved her pedormance!

Still freaking awesome :) She's very good!

She handled it amazingly though..that happened to me (I was meg) and my friend (she was Christine) so we had to improvise and ‘hug/ballroom dance’ around the stage whilst I was hooking up the back of her skirt-

I know she's not supposed to take it off until later in the song, but I kept thinking "Just take it off and hold it!" 😂😂

Ooohhh boy as a former in charge of changing costume in between scenes, I can feel the anxiety of being scolded after the show.

This was actually one of her first shows ! Her 49th to be exact

I guess you build a bond. I did legally blonde and my friends’s dress malfunctioned while doing the quick change part, and the dress was strapless, so I had to cover her. It happens sometimes and I mean- we were all girls, so it was fine. Their were no boys, they were in the dressing rooms, but it happens

Oh I had a similar problem once. A button that held part of my costume fell off at the exact time I had to go on stage. Had one girl sew it for me and rushed to the stage with seconds to spare :v truly an horrifying experience

I'm not a professional performer, but I've gone onstage a number of times to sing and do musician-y stuff and it seems like each performance, something always happened like I'd forget some lyrics for a second or one really funny time, I was so damn nervous that I forgot where my guitar's plug-in was. (It wasn't in the usual place; it was in the end button.) Wish I'd always been half as smooth as those folks!

It's not the West End. I was in it, and the set stage directions etc are all different in this one. When I covered the Wardrobe Mistress, the Christine was very definite about the costume change. She said 'I don't care how long it takes, I'm not dancing in my underpants'!

At what mark in timeline does it fall?

It was her 2nd show as Christine.

There one when the phantom tosses the doll in the end and can’t get it out of his chair. And when Christine can’t take phantoms black cloak that hides his face in Don Juan

Oof, I can imagine the conversation over the ClearComs now. I've been a tech and stage hand on a few productions at my University's auditorium where similar things happened. Depending on the group that's visiting, its either heavily joked about on the Comms or the Stage Manager is freaking out.

I was looking in your, trading site, and I was wandering, if we could trade.

I worked on a production of Mary Poppins and her mic went out and the only way to fix it was by sending a mic tech out onstage and after being under her skirt to fix it, they leave. But then THE SKIRT FALLS DOWN lolol

The 1st costume was not fastened all the way, the 2nd one had longer length. Almost a trip hazard, seems as a catch 22.

This is how performers should handle, not like those rejects on X Factor, American Idol whatever!

@@timnco2752 as an actor myself, this entire sequence seemed like more hassle than solution. Like, you had every reason to remove it immediately -- the show within the show is over, and she's "backstage" at the opera.

An other thing I'm thinking about is that, in the show, there is only few secondes betwin Christine's try out and Christine's real performance. At this point, she has to wear Carlotta's outfit and she left her chorus girl's role... So, in the story, she's not wearing her ballet dancer dress under her skirt anymore...Maybe the actress thought this way... In the story, it would makes sense...but on stage it seems more like an hassle 🙂

Ryan most likely because it's the only song where the actor reacts to the audience. She is supposed to be bowing to the audience after she sings that song so the audience re acts to her
