Hey Jay. What is your opinion on the Preds' cracking outsole issue that many people are claiming?

Amazing video once again. Could you please make one comparison between Predator 24 Elite Turf and Nike Phantom GX 2 Pro Turf. And, in general, please make some video on turf shoes.. The latest iterations come with a price tag of 140€ and there is no one reviewing these boots outside of Thailand or Bangladesh..

I'm typically a Nike player, but these Predators are so fire. Loving the adjustability with the Predators, too. For someone going in with a weaker ankle, would either make a difference?

How is the fit & feel of the Predator 2G/3G outsole version? Is it a lot wider?

I love this colorway of the GX2, and the AG soleplate looks great, but the heel looks like the heel on the Legend 8 Elite that gave me a giant blister.

Have both the gx1 and gx2 and the heels of both are really comfy and I personally haven’t gotten any blisters

I would recomend buying gripsocks. I had problems with blisters but then i bought gripsocks and i do not get them any more.

The GX2 are much less likely to give you blister after first use. They wear in really quickly, so comfy. Personally i get slight heel blister on most boots after first use but did not with GX2 Btw, for anyone suffering with blisters on sole of feet and toes even with gripsocks, use Vaseline jelly. Rub a bit of Vaseline on the areas before you play and you will prevent blisters

Yeah I would have preferred a little bit more lock down in the heel part by the gx2

A lot of my more expensive adidas shoes, have been ripping on the outside. As of the begining of the season I switched to Nike and I heve the cheaper phantom gx to test, would you recommand to buy these new ones. I am hesitating to buy the more expensive ones. Or should I get back to the predators?

As a loyal Nike wearer I do on time to time go for a adidas boot and sometimes they do a better boot than the Nike alternative but not as often in my opinion, the f50 was way up there with the mercs but the crazy fast was the worst boot I ever bought. I bought the latest preds and again must say very disappointed, they were very hard from the box and I wore them 3 times and still felt they weren’t broken in before the sole plate cracked. I now purchased the gx 2 elite and as much as the pred with the tongue looks the business they just can’t compete with the feel of the gx2 on ur feet, check for urself. 😊

Last 5 boots i've had, 2 were Nike and were better quality than the Adidas. All my Adidas unglued from the tip in short time and do not last a season. Adidas ones were 2022 Adipure Remake and 2021 Predator Freak .1 FG Been put off by Adidas because of it. Just got Nike Phantom GX2 which im really pleased with and before that last Nike i had were 2017 Premier I which were a great little leather boot. Last great Adidas boots I had (and are my all time favourites) were the 2007 Adipure I

It's actually a little bit wider for me in the fit - AND, it's suuuuper heavy. /Jay

Nike and Adidas are so inconsistent: good models, bad models, crazy models; I prefer Mizuno, and the elite level gives amazing value.

@@troviftw6480 Adidas in gerenal are tight so wider foot would rather go for a Nike or puma, the predators have to be worn a few times to fit your foot

i like he outsoles in gxs for its aggressiveness but they are again of no comparison against the mercs

I would probably lean towards the predators with the 2G/3G outsole after hearing that the 4G one is too long.

@@Leo.vbg_ It's similar to the FG version. Definitely avoid it if you are playing on 3g. It puts way too much impact on your legs and knees.

@@tn7328 no It’s not the same. I had both shoes at home and compared them. The Studs are more rounded and shorter than on the FG model. I also played on AG with them and it feels great

​@Leo.vbg_ I haven't tried it to be fair, only had the FG and it was unusable on AG, my knees are gone. I was going by Jay's review of the preds where he says the 4g is too similar to the FG, and looking at the stud pattern, I would agree. But if it works for you that's great 👍

you say sizing is the same for your US size but I think with UK it’s a little different with adidas and Nike i.e with Nike a size 8.5uk would be size 9.5us but with adidas a size 8.5uk would be 9us, does this mean if I’m an 8.5uk in Nike I’d need to go 9uk in adidas? Or still 8.5uk? Sounds confusing I know 🥲

One thing that really annoys me is you always get a cheaper looking outsole on most ag boots, why can’t we get exactly the same outsole that’s on the fg boot but with a different stud pattern🤷🏻‍♂️

Agreed I hated that colour way at first but I got the turf version and they look awesome.

As I primarily play in AG fields, my only options come down to nike’s ag soleplates. I wish adidas followed a similar ag stud pattern like nike for their ag soleplate shoes.

Looking forward to trying the gx 2 now that i know it's accomadating for wide feet. First gen toebox was too low for me. Tried the preds for about 6 hours and they were fine but still didn't really feel like they molded to my feet. Really enjoyed the padding with the fold over tongue, definitely felt solid striking the ball.

the gx1 and luna1 alr have takedown models. Don't know anything about the Lunas but for the GX's I wouldn't recommend it, you don't get gripknit on the pros and instead it's a nikeskin upper without much extra grip for a cleat centered around the idea of extra grip.

The GX2 can't compete cause of that bad choice of soleplate. If GX2 had a better soleplate GX all the way for comfort, better grip, and being lighter. For me, the Predator is my choice cause of the soleplate.

A good striker can wear any boot and do well. Haaland wears gx 2 and Ronaldo / Mbappe mercurial. It just depends on which one fits better
