this are just 3 to 5 industry people's will be taken by considering whole state university and not in all colleges affiliated to university, not all teacher's will be replaced. So Don't take tension. And why industry people's with 15 years experience will come to teach in university with less salary, are they mad ? No, they are not mad, so they will not come to university. So, Don't take tension.

I have had experience being interviewed for Professor in MBA college under GTU whereby the interviewers were all PhDs, but failed to understand my 35 years of US + Indian corporate experience and additionally they could not even talk properly in English. This was a hillarious experience for me as I was already a lecturer in the College with experience in lecturing in 2 other recognized colleges. PhD. just creates book worms who just cannot stand any chance in teaching against an actual hands-on corporate experience. So, requiring PhD. for professorship is just a farce and most PhDs. have failed to keep updated with real world scenarios. So, PhD. just makes one a bookworm with an ego, unless one has hand-on atleast 10 years of corporate experience and not just Govt. experience. Further, how many corporates respect PhDs..in India? There is a common perception that, PhD. means a bookworm with inflated ego, and it can only lead to Professorship 😂. Additionally, the other noticeable experience is that, those professors then find themselves in a comfort zones within the colleges, start playing politics during their tenure, do not keep updated with teaching methodologies and pedagogies and worst fail to provide real world guidance as they themselves have no hand-on experiences😂. My views are based on my personal experiences.

Very true..and what's the point reading English history,for net HISTORY is read,and one who has great experience is rejected because English history is not read..great. PhD way too far with University professor politics and long queue for entrance ..it's really great entry, a gateway for someone who has passion to teach

Good information. But there is no any tantitive guidelines for the asst.professor recruitment. Some time back, it was decided that NET/Ph.D is compulsory, Some time only NET required, Some time only PG. It is confusing the educated job aspirants for asst.professor.

@@biswadeepsarkar5232 🤗Absolutely bhai, I started preparing for NET while studying in MA, in which my professor also helped me a lot, He gave me authentic books to read and from that I made short notes and prepared them for the exam according to old question papers.(well, whatever you understand according to your choice, read those books.)And lastly I would like to tell that I also joined a telegram group which is totally free and many scholars and learners are also connected there where quizzes are organized daily.I do not know how I will be able to give you their address here, but if you join some such Telegram group or KZread channel which is absolutely free, you will get more free material (like information of books and their pdf, short notes and daily quiz etc.) which will be very useful for you.

If we analyse most of the PhD has no social implications or invention except 1 % which is very rare. I am NET n PhD professional with no much change in career or package in private institution. If I had continued more time in industry probably i would have shared more to the society including self growth. So far industry orientation or bridge didn't happen in India. Infact i have trained professors for entrepreneurship in 2012.

Ma'am... I had cleared NET and appeared for two interviews at government affiliated colleges for the post of assistant professor. But there were lot of candidates with PhD and they get about 20 marks for having PhD and obviously I stood no chance there. Having cleared NET seemed to make no difference.

Hello Ma'am.... I just have one request with regard to the filling up of the forms for NET exams. While filling up the form, there's an option for Only Asst. Prof/Asst. Prof and JRF. My concern is that there's a lot of people appearing their exam after clearing their Only Asst Prof criteria.... And as such when these people clear NET again and not JRF. The chance of those who haven't cleared their NET gets low. Do you think it's wise to suggest the UGC to create ONLY JRF option for the candidates who have already cleared their Asst Prof exams?

What about those who don't have NET/SET but have Ph.D. degree? Are these candidates eligible for college's Assistant Professor post ?

I am super happy.... With this... I am a chartered accountant desperately want to teach people the MNC and industrial experience and teach accounting students...

PhD and net in humanity subjects in present are getting just 10k to 20k rupees as a salary in the private institution. I don't know what will happens if the other unqualified person will also be taken into consideration.

To become AP, NET Or SET Must be compulsory and mandatory. Ph.D degree genuineness is always in doubt. Ph.D degree can be eligible for research and to publish in journals.

I am in completion stage of PhD in Mathematics. 5 years back I had just MSc degree only and I had worked as Asst Prof & HOD in Private Engg College affiliated to Technological University. After Completing MPhil and PhD Thesis submission, Last week I attended 5 rounds of interview for Asst Prof position in a University. I hope I will get it. I cleared JRF this year in my first attempt and I'm not going for a PhD or an assistant professor job. Most useless exam ever because of no jobs and you can only get ahead if you have tons of contact with politicians or very senior departmental professors.

I am pursuing my PhD in Germany but I am in the field of science but I am pretty sure tat the PhD admision in such countries is very similar across all streams.....for me I also completed my masters from Germany n hence I got a Phd position under my boss or supervisor.....so the main criteria is finding a supervisor who is willing to accept you as a Phd candidate n whose interest matches to yours.....so you need to research about the universities n the professors n thr work n write emails to them describing yrself along with yr CV ofcourse.......if the professor is interested he or she will write back to you n conduct interviews n tats how you get into a Phd abroad.....again thrs scholarship issue which the university or the professor has n if thy find you worthy enough you shall receive scholarship n stipend.......please check your favorite universities abroad where thy constantly keep advertising Phd positions.......you can also use Masters portal website where numerous positions are advertised across the globe.........remember getting a Phd abroad is a very tough job n i know tat very well along with scholarship n stipend........its very very competitive.....all the best guys👍

Mam, I am from Tamilnadu. I have cleared SLET Law. In TN, they conduct exam for direct recruitment of Assistant Professors in Govt. Law colleges through TRB once in 4 years.Will these exams happen now after this announcement?

TRB will conduct the exam, otherwise there would be no transparency. Guest Lecturers in TN know the ins & outs of the college. If govt gives a green light to the college management, GLs would immediately pay lakhs of money to get the job. It would create a huge uproar. Not to mention half of the colleges in TN filled the GL position by taking 3lakhs. If money is demanded for GL postion which gives the salary of 15k to 20k, imagine the plight would be for Asst. Professors vacancy.

What is the scenario in case of Pharma, it is said that a pharmD graduate can attend a ugc net, jrf exams can they also apply for professor of practice in the universities..or do they need any other qualification...

Please update your knowledge on par with the norms of UGC with the help of experts in the UGC norms.

The basic qualification for Assistant professor job is a minimum 50Lakhs rs. Doesn't matter how much qualification you have, iif you doesn't have monney tthen Assistant professor job is a distant dream

You have to prepare for net and qualified it, then only you are eligible for assistant professor in college.

Why is MA English required? Do you mean Masters by MA? Because there are various masters courses which is basically PG (in the respective subject including MA English). Is MA English mandatory for all to be eligible for Assistant Professor in universities?
