Stephen A got shoulder surgery and missed like 3 weeks of first take. He couldn’t even fight through that to talk on TV so he does need to shut it.

Like Gilbert arenas says, it’s these ppl that NEVER played sports seriously, that LISTEN to these 80s dummies, be the ones that got a problem w all this. What’s sad is those 80s players literally FORGET who they was, and how they felt talking down on players now.
Always hate seeing players get hurt and knowing the challenges of what they all go through and play through. Immense bravery of these guys to play through it and persevere and keep risking it all over and over.
Sounds like marcus telling mike in badboys i got shot in the asS😂
Thank you pg I love the show and I’m a big clip fan and was discouraged but your words for us fans I understand and let’s get it this year

Anyone who’s played sport at any level knows what it feels like to be injured and second guess every movement. Let alone play against the best NBA players in the world…😊
Preach Jackie
I still remember seeing him hit the stanchion and hit foot went like 180
Another thing is when players play through stuff and struggle because of it, they’ll get ripped apart for playing poorly by these same people. These people expect guys to play 100% effective regardless of what’s going on with their bodies. If you expect guys to play hurt you have to allow some room for them to struggle without it negatively affecting their legacy the way PG did with his struggles that year in the playoffs. People were mocking “playoff P” cuz of those struggles like he wasn’t dominating the east outside of lebron with the pacers
He’s dead ass serious. Wish we were playing Denver tho 😔.

Awesome vid, I’m not taking away from NBA player toughness But I’m Australian and I’d love to see PG or any NBA players react to NRL or AFL injuries. First game of the season a player compound fracture, he got it straightened on the sideline, taped and he finished the game. Full contact tackling and stiff arming people Tough stuff

Hopefully y’all come back healthy next season. You have a full offseason to get healthy
Rewatching this after watching Stephen A Smith response podcast

Yk what blows me is that in 2021 James Harden Strained his Hamstring and played through it didn’t look good on the court , and on top of that he had a short offseason had surgery and couldn’t train to prepare for 2022 season , this is one of MANY , I say all this to highlight what P said through this Pod , I rather a player not play at all then add further damage to there body when there diagnosed with a Injury especially in the Playoffs, could really derail your overall health and cutt your prime short 🤦🏾♂️
he said it himself .. he starts the regular season off with the mindset of the playoffs .. that’s too much stress mentally off the rip .. especially with a player whose had a history of injuries yearly . your minds plays a big part on you physically
Critics chirp bc it's really the same 10 players hurt every year. No one is talking about the legitimacy of anyone's injury. Stop the cap. Pg, Hayward, ad, cp3, kawhi, Simmons, kyrie, zion, Vic and dame always injured.

Bro getting paid 10s of millions of dollars to play a game … sorry but that mental shit straight up bs to me . I’m not hearing about your “mental” when you get that much money mf suck it up and play if your healthy . Older players had the same injuries got paid not even a third of what this guy is getting paid and still came out and played. You can bring up how it will make injuries worse for them in the long run . But that’s what they get paid for. People bust they ass everyday working just to go to these guys games and these millionaires (who are MILLIONAIRES cause of us fans) not going cause they “mental” yeah no missed me with that. And the dude who is agreeing with him is a movie star . Sounds like a bunch of rich people bs to me . And you probably the type of dude to say this league is not soft now. 10 minutes of proof in this video smh. Mf out hear DYING FOR THEY COUNTRY for 40,000$+ a year and this guy who makes that in a week talking about his mental gtfoh. This why KD a real one, man played 12 mins in game 5 2019 nba finals, gave em 11 points before tearing his Achilles which was already vulnerable but he decides to give it a go then GSW wins by 1 point to force game 6

Jackie Long aka esquire from ATL put stephen a smith in his place.
NBA media was sympathetic to guys playing hurt and coming back to soon for a day when KD tore his Achilles and for a few seconds when AD pulled his groin in the playoffs against the Suns. Then it was quickly back to idiotic takes about how guys need to just be mentally tough when they have physical injuries.
Stephen A played basketball in college, but incidentally didn't play much due to injuries.

That’s why i laugh about fans especially those redneck fans in the state who really think that the opinion of a Fan counts more than that of an NBA player. Fans should stay in their lane same as these experts like Stephan A.Smith who never played or dribbled a basketball
It aint like we dont understand... we dont care... you getting the bag... why dont you retire if you injury prone..or you not ready for that conversation?? Yall stars think that money is free... yall definitely got it all the way fd up.... Pg n Khawi....its over for yall gang. Just take it in..
As a 20+ year long clippers fan, we honestly don’t care if you lace um up and go out there an look bad. We care more that you care to put your body on the line to play. Especially in the playoffs!! It’s gives us hope. This year was definitely the worst ever. Injuries is always a part of the game and us clippers fans feel like it’s a curse. Every year it’s something. We definitely had the best team if ever healthy. This sucks 😖
Plz join the heat one day I just wanna see you win a ring before it's all said and done
Bruh.. everybody understands real LEGIT injuries. It’s just the fact that people like your or a CP3 or a Kawhi get hurt.. EVERY YEAR.. and usually right around or in the PLAYOFFS. Nobody asking to play hurt or injured we asking to stay healthier so as to not get to that point. Load management clearly doesn’t work. Otherwise Kawhi would be fine
Yall gotta change your diet

Kawhi is paid 30M and they want us to understand they injures, ok so leave money on the table, and the franchise will give your money to available players, play for 5M a year so we will understand you
When I tuned in to first take and heard Stephen A go on and on about Kahwi should retire I couldn't believe what I was hearing it was just disgusting -obviously sitting behind a desk and blabbing all day isn't very hard but to have that level of uncompassionate/crude comments towards athletes -that he makes a living off of was gross.

He's literally lying about 2019. He didn't miss 4 or 5 games at the end of the regular season, he missed 1 game at the end of the regular season. And he definitely didn't not pick up a basketball for 2 weeks, since the last time he played in the regular season game 1 of the 2019 playoffs was 5 days later
