Hahaha, surprisingly no, naked frame was quite heavy. Think the alu tubing is quite thick

Why convert to threaded? Threadless is so much better. I think you ruined the fork for no reason.

1. Isn’t original 2. Stack height is ugly 3. Allows me to use the bike 4. Your comment comes across as rude. 5. Fork is not ruined, it is mine and I serviced it. Crown can be replaced. In any case, I’m keeping the bike. Nobody through a years search wanted to swap the steerer tube for threaded.

@@atboy4342 how does converting to threaded "allow you to use the bike"? I only see that being that case if the steerer tube were extremely short. In which case you could use an expanding steerer tube extension, which are cheap, reliable and light. Quill stems are heavy, very hard to find in particular sizes, old, used and overpriced. Your other arguments make no sense.

​@@stuvademakaroner9607 If you think putting quill stems are old, over priced, etc etc, why on earth are you watching anything related to bikes made before 1994. We clearly don’t have the same passion. I suggest you search for modern day bikes, where quill stems are long gone. My idea was to try and put this bike to it’s original specification. I don’t find threadless stems with alot of spacers aesthetically pleasant. My last arguement, the fork is ultimately my property. I serviced it, went through the time of adding threading, and for good reason. There was nothing else viably economical to replace it with. « Ruined the fork » pertains to what exactly? It’s in usage, I own it, I’m keeping it. Who is it ruined for? Future generations?
